POSITION SUMMARY Targa Resources is seeking a Manager of Investor Relations (IR) to join the finance team located at its headquarters in Houston, TX. This position will help develop the company's narrative and effectively communicate the company's investment proposition, strategy, and financial results. Additionally, this position assumes overall leadership and engagement with the investment community, including managing relationships with sell-side analysts and investors and supporting executive-level decision making. This position reports to the VP, Finance and Investor Relations. JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Effectively communicate the company's strategy and financials to external parties. Lead the preparation of news releases and presentations pertaining to quarterly earnings, project announcements, and other financial events * Closely manage relationships with the investment community, including sell-side analysts and investors, and appropriately handle inquiries on a timely basis regarding Targa business, project updates, investment attributes, and ESG. Work with sell-side analysts to ensure published research is accurate * Conduct financial analysis including modeling Targa, peer company analysis and various analyses regarding market performance of Targa and comparative indicators. Work closely with Financial Planning and Treasury to review company forecasts, valuation, and optimization scenarios * Lead coordination and execution of investor outreach and targeting; participate in non-deal roadshows, conferences, and investor meetings. * Help drive Targa's IR strategy around ESG and Sustainability. Lead the input, analysis, and review the representativeness of Targa's ESG score with the respective rating agencies * Synthesize investment community updates and analysis into value-added communication and insights to Executive Management and Senior Leadership. * Coordinate quarterly earnings calls and other strategic announcements, including quarterly narrative, presentation slides, and Q&A * Lead corporate communications, including drafting internal communications with the spirit to enhance the employee experience and engagement * Work with business unit leaders and commercial representatives to stay abreast of business fundamentals, commercial updates, business development matters, and current events across the Company * Undertake special projects as determined by VP, Finance & Investor Relations, and Executive Management. Examples include rating agency updates, capital markets activity, competitor intelligence gathering, ad hoc financial analysis and modeling, best practices reviews, etc. MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration; CPA or CFA * 3 to 5 years of related experience, preferably in investor relations, equity research, investment banking, accounting, finance, planning and/or business development; minimum 3 years Energy industry experience preferred * Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to generate successful and positive working relationships at multiple levels and maintain them during peak deliverable periods * Strong financial/investment analytical skills. Ability to grasp and interpret key financial statements, financial metrics used in investment analysis, and approach projects/initiatives with an analytical mindset. Ability to perform financial statement analysis and challenge analyst financial models. Strong understanding of forecasting and business unit cash flow drivers * Experience with energy commodities in the areas of crude oil, NGLs, natural gas and petroleum products * Self-starter with ability to plan, manage and organize own activities to achieve deadlines and contribute to the effectiveness of the IR office as a whole * Proactive approach to managing issues * Possess high degree of confidentiality * High level of professionalism, maturity, and attention to detail * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint * Regular and reliable attendance PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Experience in the energy industry, preferably with exposure to midstream companies or assets, and investor relations EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY: Targa Resources provides equal employment opportunities based on merit, experience, and other work-related criteria and without regard to race, color, ethnicity, religion, national origin, sex, age, pregnancy, disability, veteran status, or any other status protected by applicable law.
