Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:Verify and pre-certify all office visits, outpatient testing and office testing at least three days prior to patient visit. Communicate with schedulers if additional information is needed. Communicate deductible/coinsurance information to patients. Create a collection log front office staff to collect co-pays and deductible/coinsurance information.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:For CVCP accounts, complete all required data fields and send information via fax to Precerts. As needed, compile clinical information including office notes, labs and test results to send to CVCP and/or insurance company.Input all precertification information into computer system including notes. Update account type, insurance company and any demographic information as needed.Assist with precertification of hospital procedures and admissionsHelp with follow up and review of Aged ARDaily scan office charges tickets. Copy Collection Log to Administrator and rest of front office billing activity given to poster.Perform daily deposit if needed, assist with petty cash and changeTake care of any patient concern that comes to your attention, regardless if it is listed in the above responsibilities. Remember, patients come first.Work cooperatively as a part of the team.Respect others (patients, physicians and coworkers)Answer for your actions and accept responsibility.Trust and be trustworthy.Performs other duties as requested.QUALIFICATIONS:High school education or equivalent.Previous medical office experience preferred.Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail.Ability to adapt and learn how to use computer software and equipment.Knowledge of proper phone etiquette.Ability to handle high volume of telephone work.Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.Ability to work independently and as part of health care team.Ability to organize tasks and time effectively.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public.Maintains strictest confidentiality.Frequent use of the telephone.Able to sit for long periods of time.Handle steady work and associated stress.Maintain functional teamwork concept.Demonstrate customer service acumen that meets or exceeds expectations.Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
