Job Description:

The Associate Director of Accounting is responsible for developing and leading the accounting team. This position will assist with mentoring and supervision for the accounting team. Responsible for overseeing monthly close duties: reviewing and posting journal entries, analytics, reviewing reconciliations and ensuring integrity of financial information and results through compliance with Company policies and procedures, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The incumbent will also liaise with external auditors and various corporate departments as necessary. Assist with research of technical accounting issues. Provide leadership in the development and improvement of accounting policy and procedures. Assess and review financial controls to ensure compliance with internal policies. Job Responsibilities:

  • Leads and provides guidance on financial status of revenue cycle and expenses, researching, monitoring and consolidating accountings and improving reporting process.
  • Provides direction to and development of staffs through daily coaching, performance management, and the creation and implementation of development plans. Leads and provides guidance on month-end close activities. Identifies, investigates, and resolves potential issues within tight time constraints.
    • Applies advanced technical knowledge and consultation that is proactive in assisting leadership with budgeting, forecasting, long-term planning, analytics and monthly close activities.
    • Participates in developing new business systems and metrics. Partners with management to develop, track and improve production metrics and goals.
    • Assists in providing technical guidance to functional and cross-functional efforts that independently address complex challenges to facilitate decision-making.
    • Proactively supports building and maintaining effective business partnerships between the business unit and Finance.
    • Develops, recommends, and implements process changes that positively affect workflow and maximize efficiencies.
    • Liaise with external auditors to execute audit preparation and achieve successful audit findings.
    • Assists as needed to perform other related duties and special projects as required. Requirements: Bachelors degree required; MBA preferred CPA certification required. 10+ years supervisory experience required. Combination of public accounting and related industry experience preferred. SOX exposure strongly preferred. Strong Excel skills and Microsoft Access database skills Proficient in NetSuite desired. Cost accounting experience desired Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills. The role will require interaction with a wide range of fellow employees, senior leaders, as well as external auditors. Maintain a high standard of discipline and professionalism, detail oriented. Ability to think creatively and initiate new ideas or solutions to business issues. Independence of thought and sound judgment.
