Join us and start doing your life's best work.(sm) - Optum Digital portfolio managers provide valuable leadership and structure to the delivery of digital solutions across Optum and UnitedHealthcare. -This role works closely with our business partners, product leadership, and experience teams to translate business strategies into actionable initiatives to be executed by agile delivery teams. -As a portfolio manager, you will be in a position to contribute to solutions of complex business and delivery challenges through collaboration, process improvement, and refinement of information. -Our portfolio managers are expected to have a deep understanding of the portfolio they manage. -This includes the accountable stakeholders, delivery roadmap, general team composition, and financial metrics. -The portfolio management function is a major contributor to ongoing balancing of capacity and demand and coordinates with other portfolio managers and stakeholders on dependencies. - You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. - Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-touch service to stakeholders to ensure both business and technology delivery teams are prepared to promote initiatives to team backlogs
  • Facilitate priority discussions and alignment between business and technology and ensure priorities are reflected in roadmap plans
  • Lead annual planning process across business stakeholders and ensure initiatives are aligned to funding and business strategy
  • Recommend and implement a financial tracking structure with business partners and finance to streamline and simplify the tracking and alignment of initiatives to investments
  • Ensure investment accountability structure is documented and sustained throughout the delivery process within delivery tools
  • Conduct monthly portfolio reviews with key stakeholders across the business and technology teams to drive transparency and ensure alignment within roadmaps
  • Maintain a realistic forecast of portfolio performance across strategies and initiatives that is balanced with resource plans and investment levels
  • Design and develop standard portfolio reporting to facilitate awareness and transparency to portfolio performance. -Including but not limited to: workforce budgets, forecasts, future hiring
  • Continuously communicate portfolio status and drive delivery preparedness to meet or exceed desired outcomes. (Financial, deliveries, metrics, etc.)
  • Ensure consistent implementation of the Optum Digital investment structures across strategies, initiatives, and teams
  • Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously General Responsibilities:
    • Ability to function independently and effectively with ambiguity
    • Drive collaboration sessions when necessary to achieve desired results
    • Demonstrate organizational skills and mindful planning of operational activities
    • Manage and resolve interim process gaps as needed
    • Formulate alternative strategies and remove barriers to drive to consensus
    • Ability to delegate activities to appropriate owners and hold them accountable
    • Provide updates to leadership on a regular basis (Status Reports)
    • Coordinate alignment sessions with customers and partners as needed to close issues
    • Effective and timely communication with business partners and leadership (Verbal and written)

Required Qualifications:
      • 10+ years communicating and presenting with internal and external stakeholders
      • 8+ years supporting product and capability development in agile delivery environments. (SAFe, LeSS, Scrum, Kanban) -
      • 8+ years in financial and workforce management and planning
      • 8+ years of advanced proficiency in Excel organizing, manipulating, troubleshooting, and analyzing large data sets
      • 3+ years of proficiency in PowerPoint - -translate findings into professional presentation for a variety of stakeholders Preferred Qualifications:
        • Experience delivering digital solutions for internal and external customers
        • Experience developing product execution structures with Aha! and agile delivery tools (CA Rally/Jira)
        • Experience in workforce planning, finance or product development
        • Understanding of software, on-prem, and cloud infrastructure engineering environments
        • Knowledge of consumer digital experience concepts and technology
        • Business case development and prioritization methodologies
        • Solid organizational and planning skills
        • Ability to address ambiguity and drive consensus across multiple stakeholders
        • Ability to work with business leaders and enable strategy execution
        • Ability to lead, manage, and measure change initiatives

The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $113,500 to $218,100.
