A Snapshot of Your DayThe Accounting Professional is responsible
for maintaining accurate, complete, and timely accounting records
in compliance with the company's financial reporting guidelines,
internal control guidelines, and applicable accounting
standards.This includes period-end closing procedures, reconciling
account balances and transactions, preparing financial reports and
supplementary schedules, and fulfilling audit requests.The
incumbent collaborates within and across functional organizations
to build a cost-conscious culture via effective monitoring of
financial variances and timely corrective action.How You'll Make an
Impact
- Period-end closing of accounting books
- Prepare calculations and journal entries for period-end
accruals, provisions, and valuation allowances
- Prepare supporting documentation and journal entries for
various reclassifications and adjustments
- Monitor weekly SAP background process error logs and follow up
with various teams (e.g., Project Controlling, Cost Controlling,
Supply Chain Management, and Shared Services) for corrections
- Review aged or unusual GR/IR balances and follow up with
various teams for corrections
- Review SAP material master data for inconsistent inventory
classification and follow up with Product Lifecycle Management team
for corrections
- Create and maintain internal projects and internal orders in
SAP for cost tracking
- Ensure accurate and complete costing and settlement of internal
projects and internal orders to corresponding cost centers
- Compile and distribute monthly financial reports and
supplemental schedules
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Analyze financial variances for errors and proposing corrective
action
- Assist with monthly regional headquarter cost center expense
review and forecasting
- Prepare quarterly balance sheet review packages
- Prepare supporting schedules and compile supporting documents
for internal and external audits
- Assist with SAP system fixes and testing
- Collaborate on special projects and ad hoc requests for
management and other business functions e.g., Group Accounting &
Controlling, Group Tax, and Risk and Internal Control -What You
Bring -
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA
qualification preferred
- Minimum three years GL accounting experience; Project
accounting experience is an added advantage
- Strong technical accounting knowledge (US GAAP; IFRS is an
added advantage)
- Knowledge of SAP enterprise resource planning (ERP) or similar
software (FI, CO, MM, PS, and SD modules)
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications,
especially Excel
- Produces accurate and reliable work within tight deadlines
- Attention to detail and well organized
- Must be able to work extended hours during peak periods
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork
skills
