HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake - Webster, Texas Controller II- Accounting HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake is a 610-bed acute care facility hospital offering inpatient and outpatient medical, surgical and specialty services. The campus includes Level II trauma capabilities, a Neuroscience Institute, The Heart & Vascular Hospital, a bariatrics program, the Breast Diagnostic Center, a wound care center, a level III Neonatal ICU, and the areas only pediatric emergency department and pediatric ICU. HCA Healthcare Clear Lake is affiliated with HCA Houston Healthcare, part of the HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division. The division is a comprehensive network of hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, emergency centers and diagnostic imaging facilities in greater Houston, Corpus Christi and South Texas. Facilities include: 17 hospitals, nine ambulatory care centers, 13 off-campus emergency centers, and a regional transfer center. What you will do in this role: - Defines responsibilities for all areas of Accounting. - Manage Accounting and Financial reporting functions for the hospital. - Produce daily department reports with significant variances reported to CFO. - Comply with all SOX key controls in area of responsibility. - Coordinates all audits (internal and external). - Oversees all administrative and technical aspects of Accounting, Revenue Integrity and Materials Management. - Advise Administration of substantial financial variances from budget and prior year. - Coordinate with other department directors on interdepartmental matters. - Oversee the preparation of various supporting schedules including, but not limited to, audits, cost reports, and tax returns. - Monthly analysis of financial reports determining areas for improvement to be presented to CFO. - Monthly close review. - Participate in hospital management activities. - Perform other similar and related duties as deemed appropriate by the CFO and CEO. - Provide education and direction and participate in monthly DOR review process. - Provide recruitment, staffing, supervision, leadership and development of personnel. - Represent departments in the internal and external matters in the absence of the Chief Financial Officer. - Responsible for initiating, coordinating, and compiling annual budget for CFO review. - Reviews transactions and makes recommendations regarding Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required Experience - Two years experience in accounting and supervision. Hospital background preferred. Education - B.S. Degree in Accounting required. Special Qualifications - Ten Key calculator, general accounting principles and personal computer knowledge. Outside Relationships - Corporate and Divisional personnel, physicians, as well as other accounting personnel within the Division. Be a part of an organization that invests in you.
