PEMEX Deer Park is a highly complex refinery located 18 miles east of Houston in Deer Park, TX, and is a part of the PEMEX group which is a fully integrated oil company in the Americas, working across the entire value chain: exploration, production, industrial processing/refining, logistics and marketing. PEMEX Deer Park provides a diverse and inclusive work environment that employs approximately 1000 employees with another 1200 contractors on site. The refinery's rated capacity is 340,000 barrels per day and has the feed flexibility to process multiple grades of crudes to produce the high-quality transportation fuels the world needs. The PEMEX Deer Park site is co-located with other 3rd party chemical facilities allowing for further integration and optimization of the refinery and its products. SCOPE:

  • $2.5 bn Fixed Assets
  • $1 bn Annual Spend (Opex + Capex) The PEMEX Deer Park Senior Accounting Analyst role is primarily responsible for Fixed Assets accounting and reporting as well as the Business Finance support with the Maintenance, Turnaround and Construction division of the site. This role will be part of the Deer Park finance advisor Pool to allow opportunities to support projects, allocated based on development needs and workload. Immediate focus on stabilizing back-office activities that moved to the site post-acquisition of the Refinery by Pemex

    RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
    • Immediate focus on stabilizing back-office accounting activities that moved to the site post-acquisition of the Refinery by Pemex
    • Ensure that Finance risks are integrated into the full value and risk discussion supporting the business decision-making for the specific opportunity involved
    • Support the implementation of a robust Business Control Framework and related performance management framework for the specific opportunity involved
    • Work on various opportunities across multiple activities/assets and are not dedicated to a specific activity or asset. The work they perform will change over time and be prioritized based on value and risk, and professional development.
    • Will work with the business or functional lines as the voice of Finance on specific projects/transactions
    • Intervene were other parts of Finance are not delivering to support business outcomes, to ensure the problem is solved leaving ownership where it should sit QUALIFICATIONS:
      • BBA Finance or Accounting
      • 10+ years experience
      • Microsoft Suite, SAP, and Power BI preferred
      • Able to gain the confidence of various internal and external parties by building on strong knowledge and understanding of the business drivers, value and risk
      • The problem-solving mindset with the courage to ensure professional financial rigor is applied to the commercial decision-making process and risk management bringing analytics and insights to the table
      • Ability to apply a risk-based, practical approach to problem-solving, coupled with the ability to rationalize decisions with significant uncertainty and incomplete info
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to relay financial information to people with different financial backgrounds
      • Ability to understand end-users needs and translate them into successful delivery
