Job Description:
Title Senior Data Scientist MISSION STATEMENT The mission of The
University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center is to eliminate
cancer in Texas, the nation, and the world through outstanding
programs that integrate patient care, research and prevention, and
through education for undergraduate and graduate students,
trainees, professionals, employees and the public. SUMMARY The Wang
Laboratory at MD Anderson Cancer Center is a computational biology
research lab. We apply innovative bioinformatics approaches to
deeply profile tumor cells and cells of the tumor microenvironment
in order to identify tumor cell intrinsic and microenvironmental
factors driving tumor phenotypic heterogeneity and evolution, and
better understand the mechanisms underlying early tumorigenesis,
disease progression, and the development of therapy resistance. We
are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic senior
computational scientist who will help develop and maintain the
analytical pipelines for processing and analysis of single cell and
spatial multi-omics datasets. A primary responsibility of this
position is to conduct bioinformatics analysis and develop novel
analytical methods and tools as needed to address key biological

business Participate in the design of computational experiments,
data analysis and results interpretation. Adopt and evaluate
existing methods and tools, establish and maintain computational
infrastructure and analytic pipelines in the lab. Develop
computational methods as needed for integrative analysis of single
cell and spatial multiomics data. Conduct computational analysis of
bulk, single cell and spatial multiomics data, and perform
high-dimensional, multimodal data integration.

integrate data / metadata and assist postdocs and students in the
lab in analyzing and resolving analysis issues as needed. Assist
with manuscript and grant preparation and present results during
lab meetings, at department and institutional meetings and
seminars, and at appropriate scientific conferences.

new procedures; organize data on laboratory servers; Assist with
data/code submission, and distribute methods and codes to the

Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer
Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Science, Engineering,
Computer Science, Statistics, Computational Biology, or related
field. Five years of experience in scientific software programming
with a concentration in scientific computing. With Master's degree,
three years experience required. With PhD, one year of experience
