Are you an editorial Swiss Army Knife who's interested in the future of energy, storytelling, and marketing? We are in search of a high-performing editor and writer for the Grid Automation Business Unit at Hitachi Energy. The ideal candidate is a big-picture thinker who can tease out a compelling narrative and boil down complex concepts into clear, concise, human-centered stories. The content that flows through your desk will range from high-impact thought leadership pieces, to case studies, web and event content, and other marketing content that increases category awareness and generates demand for our BU. This role will be key to ensuring that we deliver those messages regularly, clearly, engagingly, and in a timely manner. Critical to success, the Lead Editor & Writer will collaborate cross-functionally with MarCom colleagues and subject matter experts to develop world-class B2B marketing content.

Your responsibilities

• Work with stakeholders to develop marketing content that require editorial oversight.
• Assess content requests to vet for relevance against our marketing and content strategy, prioritizing projects with differentiation and strongest potential impact.--- Work with stakeholders to develop marketing content that require editorial oversight.

• Identify, lead and execute practices that maintain highest levels of quality throughout the editorial process of editing, writing, and proof-reading.
• Collaborate on content strategy and editorial calendar, working closely with leaders across the organization.
• Resource, on-board, and manage editorial contractors in alignment with resourcing strategy set by Content Marketing Leader.
• Help craft and manage social media and email campaigns in partnership with the digital marketing team, ensuring the right message and format lands on the right platform.
• Work with designers to vet visual assets and ensure they track with the content.
• Collaborate with Communications team on content strategy.
• Work cross-functionally to prioritize content queue, and ensure collaborative communication regarding timelines and prioritization.
• Manage content production goals while maintaining first-class quality standards.
• Handle exceptions for content not matching set criteria.
• Possess a keen eye for understanding BU strategy, brand vision and Content Marketing team goals.
• Create and delegate assignments to freelance resources.
• Review content for completeness and quality; handle process for revisions.
• Route and monitor tasks end-to-end throughout content production pipeline.
• Leverage content management tools to optimize content processes - production queue tracking, ROI, etc.
• Track and log content requests.
• Oversee quality control including language/tone/voice of content.
• Edit and provide feedback on a variety of content.
• Other duties as assigned.
  Your background
  
  • Degree educated or equivalent in journalism or communications in an advantage.
  • Senior professional (> 8 years experience).
  • Experience in the industrial sector, focus in B2B content.
  • Experience in content creation, storytelling.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills; effectively manages time and concurrent efforts, without losing quality.
  • Problem solver in a fast-peaced environment.
  • Comfortable with digital tools.
  • Experience leading free lance contributors is a plus.
