We are currently seeking an External Reporting Specialist who will advance the institution's proud tradition of excellence in academics, student life and community service.

Your mission: We'll rely on you to perform the data formatting, analysis and verification of institutional reports for state and federal agencies, including the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB).

Your work: Highlights
In this role, you'll perform data audits and work with institutional departments and personnel to ensure the accuracy of reported data, correcting process issues as needed.

You'll assist with the reconciliation of institutional reports with THECB and federal IPEDS edits, and work with departments and staff to identify and correct data when required.

In addition, you'll maintain electronic edit files, making necessary changes and revisions, and ensure that reports are submitted by the deadlines mandated. You'll assist in determining user requirements for new and modified programs and/or systems, and you'll review and test new and/or existing program changes mandated by THECB

SUMMARY

Responsible for data formatting, data analysis and data verification of assigned area of records and reports for internal, external, state and federal agencies, including the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB), and the U.S Department of Education (USDOE) . Assist in ongoing management of assign area case data and records. Assist submission of reports by specified deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Three (3) years related work experience is required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Experience dealing with wide range of constituencies in a diverse community to include employees and students.

  • Work with appropriate assign area personnel and other departments to ensure and confirm the accuracy of reported data and to correct process issues, as needed;
  • Maintain electronic edit files, making necessary changes and revisions;
  • Receive, sort and transfer electronic files and documents to proper destination
  • Participate in internal/external committees as directed;
  • Perform data audits of assign area data sources to ensure data integrity;
  • Assist in determining user requirements for new and modified programs and/or systems
  • Ensure current programs and systems are current and upgraded as necessary;
  • Review and test new and/or existing program changes in accordance with standards and procedures;
  • Assist with the reconciliation of institutional reports and work with departments and staff to identify and correct data when required;
  • Respond to ad hoc requests for data and information;
  • Coordinate and communicate, both orally and in writing, with designated departments to include internal and external departments or agencies; and
  • Confer with Information Technology and other departments to ensure and confirm the accuracy of collected and reported data.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite especially Excel required;
  • Experience with PeopleSoft or equivalent enterprise management system preferred;
  • Ability to attend to detail related to data accuracy and integrity required;
  • Possess strong analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Exhibit flexibility in working in a team environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to handle project within the bounds of professional ethics and maintain data confidentiality as required; and
  • Ability to work with a multicultural workforce, diverse groups and sensitivity to cultural differences.
