Description:FlexDecks, Inc. is a pioneer and leader in the
design and manufacture of innovative, modular maintenance platforms
for the most technologically advanced military aircrafts in the
world. The Engineering and Design department plays a major role in
every step of the production process including sales, design,
fabrication, assembly and installation. As a CAD Designer/Drafter,
this position will be responsible for creating and maintaining
mechanical models and drawings to support production and
engineering. This support will include preparation of GA models,
custom designed components, dimensional drawings, sales drawings,
bill of material data creation/management, photo realistic
renderings, and part/assembly model editing.Qualifications:To
perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to
perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed
below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability
required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:The duties will
include, but are not limited to the following:With engineering
assistance, create designs, models and manufacturing drawings using
SolidWorks. Editing of assembly and part features/data.Evaluate
machinery used in production and apply that knowledge to designs
and drawings.Apply unique design techniques and SolidWorks methods
including configurations, design tables, rendering and camera
techniques, tab & slot plate design, and much more.Clearly
communicate with all departments including fabrication, assembly,
sales, and the machine shop.Demonstrate strong team skills and
complete tasks in a timely manner ensuring accuracy, completeness,
attention to detail. Required Skills/Qualifications:Must be
proficient in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD modeling and drawing
creation software.Familiar with basic fastener hardware and
applications.General welding, metal, machining, and fabrication
knowledge.Must have good verbal and written communication skills to
convey technical ideas, concepts, and details.Must be proficient in
the Microsoft Office suite programs including Word, Power Point,
and OutlookMust be proficient in Microsoft Excel including
familiarity with cell equations and tables.Excellent organization
skills.Familiar with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
(GD&T).Beneficial Skills/QualificationsExperience with
SolidWorks design tables and PhotoView 360.Experience with
SolidWorks PDM.Experience in a machine shop environment including
vertical milling machines, plasma or water jet cutting tables,
shears, break pressesExperience in a welding/fabrication
environment.Familiarity with welding symbols and AWS D1.2
Structural Aluminum Welding Code.Familiar with 3D printing and/or
injection molding.Education and ExperienceHigh School
DiplomaAssociate's degree or completion of a technical trade school
or certification in CAD drafting, design or related field with GPA
of 3.0 or above. Qualified candidates will have 1-3 years of
relevant CAD modeling/drafting experience in SolidWorks.Work
Environment & Physical Demands:Position, though usually within the
confines of an enclosed office building, requires work in an open
fabrication shop. Temperatures, as well as humidity, fluctuate in
accordance with the season. At any time entrance to the fabrication
shop is required, Personal Protection Equipment is required,
including but not limited to Hearing, Eye Protection, Hard Hat and
Safety ShoesWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee
is regularly required to sit & stand; use hands to finger, handle,
or feel; reach with hands and arms; walking, ascend/descend stairs;
and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job
include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral
vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.The physical
