Purpose: Worley is currently looking for a Facilities Project Engineer to join a team of Engineers in the Houston, Texas location. The ideal candidate will manage and coordinate multi-discipline engineering and construction activities in the Upstream and Midstream Sectors. In addition, the incumbent will act as primary technical coordination interface with client and site to ensure that the clients expectations are met and ensure the project conforms to regulatory and code requirements for drilling and well sites in the Permian Basin. Responsibilities: - Startup and operational support for new surface infrastructure elements including pipelines, compressor stations, pumping stations, and oil/water/gas separation, conditioning and processing facilities - Evaluate, design, install, and optimize secondary waterflood and injection facilities for new and existing oil and gas production plants - Maintaining awareness of the state of the surface facilities through instrument data (e.g. PI trends), relationships with field operators, and direct observation in the field. - Maintaining awareness of the field business context, with emphasis on surface related costs and value drivers. - Understanding the root causes of equipment and system failures. - Proposing and justifying solutions for failures, then executing or overseeing execution of those solutions. - Direct collaboration with production engineering to optimize the full value chain from reservoir to sales point. - Support the production system optimization process through leading facility reviews and supporting well reviews. - Proposing and justifying projects to safely increase value through increased production or reduced costs, then executing or overseeing execution of those projects. - Regularly provide accurate, timely and effective reports to management. Effectively communicate with the team and third parties. - Ensuring that the MOC process is rigorously followed for all changes in the field. - Ownership of critical documents (primarily P & IDs and Cause-and-Effect tables). - Supporting HSE investigations as required. - Supporting new (and revalidation of existing) Process Hazard Analyses (such as HAZOPs). - In all areas, application of Continuous Improvement / Lean practices is required to systematically reduce cost, increase production, and improve safety. This includes documenting, sharing, and adopting lessons learned and best practices within the asset, across the business and externally. - Analyzing, troubleshooting, and refurbishing existing surface infrastructure elements for optimum utilization - Project planning and management for safe execution of projects with predictable cost, schedule and performance - Design and develop cost estimates for field maintenance projects - Travel to and from the Permian Basin and other field locations throughout the USA What youwill bring Required Technical and Industry Experience: - Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer - Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Chemical or related engineering discipline - 5-10 years of relevant industry experience - UCOG midstream/upstream and/or pipeline and facilities experience, including terminals and compressor stations - Accuracy and attention to detail are required and the ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities is important. - Onshore oil production background and/or experience in field operations is important. - Knowledge level understanding of Asset Integrity Process Safety Management (AI-PSM) concepts and processes - Awareness level understanding of Industry Facilities design standards and codes, and performance standards, such as API codes - Awareness level competency demonstrated for Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) techniques and methods. - Demonstrated abilities to work across multi-disciplinary teams that could include operations, leadership, finance, engineering, regulatory, and others. - Awareness level competency in Production System Optimization (PSO) Alarm Management processes. - Change Management skills, including knowledge level understanding of the Management of Change (MOC) process. - Demonstrated commitment to safety, including safety considerations in engineering design, recommendations, and operability - Strong communication skills; able to work within a multidiscipline team - Working knowledge of reliability engineering principles and life cycle cost analysis. - Working knowledge of corrosion engineering principles. - Formal training and work experience in project management. - Working knowledge of procurement systems and contracting. - Ability to represent the companys interests with vendors and contract technical staff - Proficiency in hydraulic analysis, equipment sizing/design, and system design - Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Suite software - Industry codes and standards (ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, ASME Section 8, Div. 1 Pressure Vessel Code, etc.) - General attributes required of all Company employees include: Zero Harm, Action Orientation, Building Effective Business Relationships, Commitment, Customer Focus, Dealing with Change, Drive for Results, Integrity and Trust, and Basic Leadership Skills.
