Located in Houston, TX. Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities: - Prepare reports, specifications and drawings based on above engineering work - Provide technical assistance to tender preparation and tender pre-qualification preparation. Attendance of progress meetings and regular department management meetings. - Proficient in the analysis and design of pipelines using McDermott tools and procedures. - Coordinate with supervisor, client, other disciplines, construction contractors and others as needed to develop appropriate installation procedures. - Review the designs of others working on the job to ensure that the overall design is suitable. - Acquire/exhibit basic supervisory skills. - Organize and plan work to complete project deliverables. - Meet with clients, supervisors and other disciplines to agree on engineering scope and procedures. - Prepare engineering estimates, schedules and budgets. Track progress to encourage adherence to the schedule and budget goals. - Lead engineering design on small jobs, coordinating and supervising other engineers. - Communicate technical matters effectively with clients - Continue professional development. Basic Qualifications: - Minimum Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Naval Architecture Engineering. - Minimum 5 years of professional experience in pipeline and/or riser design and in SURF projects and tenders. - Be familiar with rigid pipeline design. - Familiarity with SURF design codes (API, DNV). - Knowledge in MathCad, Visual Basic, ANSYS, ABAQUS or structural analysis tools are advantage. - Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to interface with supervisors, colleagues, consultants, vendors, drafting designer, and clients in multi-discipline organizations - Able to work independently with general supervision - Must have good written and communication skills as well as be proficient in all MS Office tools - Have excellent work ethic and maintain a good work attitude Other details: Location: Houston, TX Company Overview: McDermott is a premier, fully-integrated provider of technology, engineering and construction solutions to the energy industry.
