Job Title Structural Hull Engineer

Location Remote

Our client, a leader in the maritime industry, is looking for an engineer who is experienced with Structural Hull related analysis for an open-ended, indefinite contract role (not direct hire). This individual is expected to independently carry out hull structural analysis such as seakeeping, ISE/TSA, DLA and SFA type of strength and fatigue analysis for commercial and military projects. Experience with ISE/TSA and DLA/SFA software suite is a plus.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Mechanical/Naval Architecture with minimum 10 years of relevant working experience
• Fluent in English (spoken & written) and must possess good communication skills
• Hydrostatic analysis experience
• Experienced in executing hull structural analysis
• Should be structurally savvy and able to approximate results in most structural problems by simple / hand calculations)
• Experienced in translating design requirement into structural drawings and analysis
• Excellent knowledge in strength (yielding and buckling), fatigue and dynamic behaviors of structures
• Well-versed with finite element analysis (FEA, preferably FEMAP)
• Hull analysis software (e.g. ABS ISE/TSA, DLA/SFA suite) knowledge and site experience are a plus
• Familiar with detailed design and scantlings as per class rules (ABS, DnV, etc) and international codes & standards (API RP2A, AISC, etc.)
• Good knowledge of steel materials and fabrication practices
  MUST be a US citizen or permanent resident. The role is currently remote but once they go back into the office, the desire is for the engineer to be on site, so the preference is for local candidates but those who can work only remotely will be considered.
