solve technical problems in many ways. They build or set up
equipment, conduct experiments, and collect data and calculate
results. They might also help to make a model of new equipment.
Some technicians work in quality control, where they check
products, do tests, and collect data. Essential Job Functions:
- Understand, practice, and support safety standards in all work
and in all locations
- Assist engineers by performing analysis, testing, and support
of machines, tools, equipment, and mechanical systems
- Troubleshoot product designs and suggest or implement
improvements
- Repair, rework, or modify mechanical assemblies to meet
operational specifications and tolerances
- Assist engineers with fabricating and assembling mechanical
prototype models from blueprints, schematics, or sketches
- Conduct functional and operational tests to evaluate
performance and reliability of prototype or production models
- Work with engineers to perform root cause and failure analysis
as required
- May provide support to manufacturing to ensure product is
created to engineering specifications This job description is not

- May mentor less-experienced peers and assist supervisors, but
does not formally supervise others Qualifications :
- Must be able to access shared database with government programs
and all physical areas of the facility (U.S. Citizen or Permanent
Resident of the U.S.)
- Requires high school/trade school education; Associates Degree
in an engineering technology program, certification, or
professional training preferred
- Required Experience: Associate level 0-1 year; Intermediate
level 1-3 years; Senior level 3-5 years; Advanced 5+ years
- Demonstrated, effective ability with CAD software & experience
or ability to learn ERP systems
- Demonstrated, strong communication skills; both verbal and
written
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate well with peers and
cross-functional teams and external customers
- Demonstrated, successful ability to problem-solve
- Demonstrated, successful ability for information gathering,
documenting, & reporting Work Environment: The work environment
