We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Unconventional EOR Development Engineer (RE/FE) in our US Onshore Resources & Carbon Management (ORCM), Subsurface Technology Business Unit based in Houston, Texas. The Unconventional EOR Development Engineer (RE/FE) is responsible for putting together development plans to apply EOR in Oxy's unconventional fields. This will involve planning and executing pilots, analyzing results from pilots, and scaling results to full field development. - Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manage planning and execution of ORCM Unconventional EOR pilots. Work with all stakeholders(F&C, Asset, Land, Regulatory, etc.) to ensure project success.
  • Collaborate with Unconventional EOR technical teams to ensure pilots are designed to capture quality data for scale-up. -
  • Demonstrate scale-up of pilots to full field development. Identify high impact levers to optimize full field development.
  • Collaborate with Asset Development teams to incorporate EOR development into overall Field Development Plans(FDPs). Education:
    • BS or higher in Engineering (Chemical, Petroleum, Mechanical preferred) Experience:
      • Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in Reservoir Engineering, Facility Engineering or Development planning
      • Intermediate experience with economic modeling software and project economics
      • Experience in design/operation of upstream facilities (compression, processing, pipelines).
      • Familiar with surface & subsurface regulatory, environmental, and land requirements in the oil field (specifically TX, NM, CO)
      • Familiar with EOR process/concepts
      • Process engineering design and software(Hysys, etc) a plus Skills:
        • Ability to deal with uncertainty; comfortable making recommendations with limited data
        • Deliver logical, well supported presentations to peers and management
        • Demonstrated results in improving the profitability of oil and gas fields using analytical skills
        • Comfortable leading and collaborating with teams consisting of diverse disciplines
        • Expertise in project management(cost, time, scope, and procurement)
