States. We have an exciting opportunity for a Countermeasures
Project Engineerto join our team with JETS II Teammate Company,
Bastion Technologies, Inc. The Countermeasures System (CMS) Project
Engineer will:
- Provide dual Project Engineering support and Hardware
Integration support to the ISS Countermeasures team.
- Will provide auxiliary support to Treadmill 2 (T2) and Advanced
Resistive Exercise Device (ARED) in testing and sustaining
engineering activities.
- Process ISS crew workout and hardware response data, analyzing
and documenting results for presentation to customers.
- Frequently perform hands-on hardware testing.
- Work in a team environment, and report to the project manager
for technical support, task assignment, and processes.
- Plan and execute hardware troubleshooting to investigate
mechanical and electrical failures within flight hardware or test
support hardware.
- Might also support other CMS hardware teams in testing and
sustaining engineering activities as required.
- Assist teammates with assessing flight dates and hardware
delivery dates using International Space Station (ISS) online and
other digital resources.
- Work alongside project personnel during flight processing of
hardware.
- Coordinate with Safety and Materials engineers to complete
hardware flight assessments required for delivery and return.
- Create flight delivery schedules for CMS hardware and support
system manifest and engineering meetings.
- Work with teams to complete the necessary documentation to ship
and launch ISS flight hardware for specific flights.
- Serve as the point of contact between CMS and the Cargo Mission
Contract (CMC). Transport flight hardware to CMC on scheduled
delivery days.
- Present and discuss statuses at meetings and answer questions
from customers and other teammates.
- Act as a correspondent between CMS team and other organizations
(including CMC, JETS safety, toxicology, Joint Cargo Certification
Team, shipping department, export control, and others as
required.)
- Perform catch-all work such as government recall alert
assessments and general fact-finding when necessary.
- Perform job functions based on pre-established guidelines of
instructions.

- Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering in the field or in
a related area.
- Familiar with Johnson Space Center (JSC) organizations,
processes, and procedures.
- Self-motivated, team player, adaptable to a dynamic
environment, and the ability to complete all assignments as
required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and will be
expected to effectively interact with
- customers and management at all levels.
- Ability to prepare written documents and to verbally present at
various meetings.
- Must have the ability to visualize and work with complex
mechanical/electrical systems and work with others in
problem-solving as part of a team.
- Must be able to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
and schedules with limited supervision.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products. Proficiency with
Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Requisition Preferences:
- Bachelor's degree in science or engineering - ABET accredited
university preferred.
- Familiarity with Countermeasures hardware.
- Some experience with crew interface/communication.
- Prior experience with hardware anomaly troubleshooting and
failure analysis.

Generally, an office environment can involve inside or outside work
depending on the task. Physical Requirements Work may involve
sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May

printer, etc.). Attendance Regular attendance in accordance with an
established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside the
normal schedule and adjust the schedule to meet peak periods and
