Job Description:
- Define project scope for instrumentation and objectives on
proposals
- Support conceptual design for production plants of air
separation, CO2, O2, N2 and
- Propose required instrumentation to optimize plant
- Develop P&I drawings, data sheets, and specifications
- Follow recognized industry standards, safety standards, and
various client specifications
- Coordinate the basic and detail engineering
- Responsible for preparing detail specification for contractor
biding, hiring, construction, erection, and
- Coordinate the final data book, manuals, and
- Coordinate and participate in plant construction,
commissioning, and start-up.
- Monitor project progress and KPIs, reporting any deviation and
proposing corrective actions as
- Participate in HAZOPs and P&ID reviews
Principal Responsibilities:
- Works with other instrumentation engineers in the design,
specification, selection, erection, commissioning and
troubleshooting of instrumentation.
- Day to day troubleshooting and basic oversight of the numerous
outsource vendors that support the client in the design,
specification, selection, erection, commissioning, and
troubleshooting
- This position is expected to be a team member supporting active
projects, including: Ability to select and specify
instrumentation
- Provide detailed drawing review and feedback to equipment
OEM's
- Critical supplier design audits of instrumentation and control
systems
- Ability to follow project from specification process, through
design and manufacture, construction and installation,
commissioning, and resolution of field issues
- Develop, plan, and implement QA/QC plans related to instrument
loop testing
- Ability to bring knowledge and experience from plant operating
environment to improve best practices
- Support the client with operational issues of equipment and
provide assistance in plant commissioning and troubleshooting.
- Support and execute projects in multiple geographies as the
business requires Work with contract resources to support our
various projects
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the clients E
& I standards
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering
- 3 - 5 years relevant experience Engineering and troubleshooting
instrument and control systems Knowledge of controls and protection
systems
- Experience with Industrial Gases or petrochemical projects is a
plus
- Experience with industrial gas equipment such as compressors,
blowers, heaters, and motors; experience with project management
related methodologies, including cost control, planning, and
scheduling, as well as quality control, and assessments.
- Participation in the development and evaluation of complex
engineering projects; and proficiency with Autocad software
- Must be willing to travel extensively (25-40% of time) or as
business requires
- Ability and interest to stay up to date with industrial
practice
- Ability to work comfortably as a team member and an independent
contributor Ability to think through technical issues while working
independently and remotely Execution of improvement projects
(re-rates, upgrades, etc.)
- Train plant personal on important aspects of E & I systems.
Develop a working knowledge of risks
- Ability to support, develop, and maintain relationships with
outside specialist consultants / engineering firms Knowledge of
relevant industry standards
