Position Description: Applications EngineerEssential
FunctionsEngage in interactions with customers to ensure full
understanding of customer objectives & project requirements.Engage
in customer interactions to build lasting trust relationships which
improve our ability to collect valuable information that leads to
securing purchase orders.Utilize department design tools and
participate in the improvement of existing tools and the creation
of new tools.Adhere to the AMACS design philosophy and standard
design practices.Match customer stated technical needs and
objectives with the most economical AMACS products and
capabilities.To be alert for opportunities to offer alternate
proposals which have added value to our customers and to clearly
communicate to our customers the necessary information for them to
make the best decision for their situations.Prepare technical
discussions for our proposals to support our selection of the AMACS
products quoted. To be available to support the Sales department's
efforts to follow-up quotes via telephone conference calls or
in-person visits.Support Design Engineering and Drafting department
after receipt of purchase order to ensure that design concepts are
clearly understood and properly implemented, e.g. through the
supply of mechanical data sheets and review drawings for
approval.Maintain and improve an overall technical competence in
applications and products.Additional FunctionsUse every opportunity
to advise customers of all of AMACS products and services.Utilize
and help to continuously improve quotation templates in cooperation
with sales department.Develop and continuously improve design
specification tools in cooperation with the Design Engineering and
Drafting department.As opportunities arise, support the sales and
marketing group efforts with the acquisition of competitor product
line offerings.Collaborate with design engineering for new product
ideas, design, development, and validationAll other tasks assigned
as necessary.QualificationsChemical Engineering degree
(undergraduate or graduate) - Bachelor's DegreeOne to five years
experience in the separations or mass transfer industryMust be able
to work in the US without sponsorshipStrong concentration skills
and the ability to pay attention to detailsEffective oral and
written communication skills for expressing complex concepts in
easily understandable waysStrong interpersonal skills and ability
to work with peers and in multi-level team structuresSelf-motivated
and personally organizedProfit focusedCustomer focused (internal
and external)Additional Desirable Experience and
QualificationsSales engineering experience or a position with
significant customer contact.End user experience in an engineering
or operations role.Must be flexible and comfortable with change
