Position Summary
The Sr. Network Engineer will be the primary technical interface
between the client's network function and their business, working
both locally and at remote offshore locations. The Sr. Network
Engineer will work with other geographically disperse team members
to provide real time diagnostics and fault resolution for all
network connectivity. This position will be responsible for
assisting with physical installation, cabling and testing of all IT
and Telecoms.
LOCATION & TRAVEL
- Role provides the opportunity to work in hybrid environment,
working both virtually and in office when required.
- Ability to travel locally and overseas up to 60% of the
year.
- Initially, this role will be based on an offshore platform in
the Mauritania and Senegal region, with travel back to residence in
the UK or US.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage various stakeholder interfaces: Time management,
Activity management and Change management.
- Physical installation and troubleshooting of all IT equipment
at remote locations.
- Design, write and update system documentation and network
diagrams.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot various network
architectures.
- Monitor and diagnose performance.
- Lead continued improvement activities.
- Ability to travel locally and overseas up to 60% of the
year.
Qualifications
REQUIRED
- Minimum 3+years of project commissioning experience and a good
working knowledge of the infrastructure implemented.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience with the delivery of highly
scalable, economically feasible and high performing systems and
networks, within a functional deliver matrix of: Critical Telecoms,
Enterprise, and Major Project environments.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience with Edge, Access, Distribution
and Transmission layers.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience with Versa SD-WAN Technology and
configurations.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience with General Practices and
Standard for data communication network infrastructure.
- Certification or hands-on experience in the following:
- Cisco IPT, WAN and LAN routing protocols (EIGRP, IGRP, BGP,
HSRP, OSPF)
- Ethernet switch technologies (spanning tree (STP/RSTP))
- Cisco and Aruba Wireless network technologies: 802.11/ABGN
- Network authentication protocols and Network monitoring
protocols
- Must have an active or ability to acquire the BOSIET (Basic
Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training)
Certification.
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on technical experience with security
firewalls such as FortiGate Firewalls (301E) - fault management and
diagnosis.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience with configuration,
installation, and support of Process Control Networks (PCN).
- Basic working knowledge of Server infrastructure.
PREFERRED
- Experience in data communications and network infrastructure
solutions with extensive experience of Technical Assurance within
an EPC environment in the Oil and Gas industry, and preferably
within the Upstream Gas business.

Additional Information
This position is Hybrid - Remote and will require commuting to a
designated office. Hybrid work schedules are determined by the
hiring manager based on business need.
