Job Description Job Description We are seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer for our Houston-based client. In this role, you will work with clients to design custom Low and Medium Voltage Switchgear & Control Solutions. You will manage projects, provide technical guidance, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and help evaluate team performance. Additionally, you will collaborate with other departments to develop and implement engineering strategies and initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong Electrical and/or Mechanical design experience in automation, controls, power systems, switchgears or similar. Experience working in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred. Responsibilities include: Designing 480V through 5kv Motor Controls, and 480V through 38kV Switchgears. Leading design review meetings. Handling any design issues between manufacturing and engineering. Attend Kick-Off Meetings and answer technical questions. Providing on-the-job training to engineering personnel. Assist in the publishing of articles and attend seminars. Qualifications BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Master’s preferred 8years of related industry experience in Automation, Control Panel Design, Wiring Design, Switchgear design, Electrical System Integration, or similar Knowledgeable about three phase systems, relays, transformers, control switches, and other power distribution equipment. Strong design experience including drafting/CAD skills, circuitry design, creating drawings, understanding electrical symbols, power system applications, checking wiring diagrams, interpreting customer specifications, consulting and troubleshooting Strong knowledge of industry standards and codes, including IEEE, NEC, and IEC Knowledge of Load Flow Studies, Short Circuit Analysis, Protection Settings and/or SCADA preferred Experience working large greenfield projects Highly motivated self-started who is highly organized Ability to work well and communicate with all departments and clients
