Job Description:
We are looking for candidates that possess well rounded
attributes in multiple disciplines and can demonstrate some level
of experience in the majority of these areas. In reverse, these
could be restated with questions to determine candidates experience
or behaviors in relative areas:Qualified Candidate
Profile:Leader--- Inspires (not a dictator)--- Encourages and
drives creativity--- Situational leadership skills (assesses each
situation and reaches out to SME's to drive the best outcome)---
Ability to get into the weeds effectively and without being
consumed, yet pull out quickly to lead mid to high level (Sales &
Operationally)--- Excellent at multi-tasking--- Excellent at
quickly switching gears (Internally to Externally, Minor issues to
Major Catastrophes, from Personnel Issues to Technical Issues)---
Aptitude to manage risks on the spot (Quick thinker, quickly
assesses situation, knows what to commit to and what not to commit
to)--- Must be able to communicate/interact well with multiple
levels of employees with varying mindsets (from leadership to an
apprentice, from the expert to the tasker)--- Problem Solver -
Coaches or Mentors all team members on problem solving techniques.
Helps to remove obstacles.Coaching & Developing--- Enjoys
continuous coaching (Planned and unplanned daily events, ranging
from very minor instances to complex situations)--- Through daily
interaction, mentally identifies strengths and weaknesses,
identifying and taking the opportunity for coaching at the time or
mental note for scheduled one on one (This is ongoing all day long,
every day)Customer Focus--- Continuously thinking "strategy" (Every
move/decision every employee makes every day has a direct impact on
our business outcomes) This requires a leader to constantly monitor
various activities on both the Ops and Sales Teams and be able to
identify potential risks whether a verbal, written or physical
action. (Lots of observation without making employees feel like
they are being monitored)--- Know the Customer - Besides being
savvy regarding our Industrial Petrochem/Manufacturing Market of
customers that are very proud of who they are, it is critical that
the leader of the Industrial Team also build direct trusting
relationships with our customers. This leader must be able to
balance the relationship regarding his/her team to help our
customers understand ourorganization, roles and responsibilities
and direct them in a way that gives them simple avenues to
accomplish in a timely manner. (Work the Team with the Customer)---
Strong listening skills with the ability to deep dive (3 question
rule applies - ask the question 3 times before you actually start
getting the actual facts and can begin to rationalize the
situation, and with a lot more questions - Must be able to pick up
on the clues and know what to ask.)--- Takes initiative to
understand our customers' drivers. He/she must lead and develop the
team to deliver optimum solutions for each specific customer in
many different ways.Financial/Business Acumen--- While having
experience with financial or P&L management, this leader must
balance the financial expectations along with daily business
investments/decisions to achieve the overall financial goal
(Difficult to put this one into words that clearly explain this
leader must be able to quickly evaluate situations, make the best
business decision for the future in lieu of short term thinking.
Evaluate is the key word here.)--- A good mix of entrepreneur with
a desire/drive to meet expectations, while being comfortable with
taking risks.Technical Aptitude--- Has managed and engaged
technical teams to initiate detailed discussions for possible
solutions. (Not a technical expert, but enough knowledge regarding
JCI capabilities to ask the right questions and then use the
information to help solve problems or pull in the right
resources.)--- Has had experience working with Technical Customers
focused on Technical or Reliability Outcomes, while considering
financial budgetsExperience--- Managing $30-$40M P&L
(Beaumont/Pasadena Industrial) $10-$20M (Lubbock)--- Managing
multiple teams with varying talent and responsibilities--- Project
Management experience (Not required, but provides core experiences
that contributes to the success in this role)?Must Haves:---
