A South Houston multi-national agriculture chemical organization seeks a Technical Process Manager to join their growing team. The organization is looking for a top notch Technical Process Manager candidate to add to the management team to assist in their growth plans. The Technical Process Manager is responsible to provide process, mechanical, chemical, and project engineering assistance to operations. Responsibilities include developing & implementing technology initiatives to maintain and improve the operability, safety, quality, and cost of the unit. This position will have supervision over the QC lab, E&I and Maintenance, and will work closely with other plant resources, particularly the Operations Leader, Production Supervisor, and Supply Chain Supervisor. This position will manage a staff of 3 to 4. The right individual must be willing to take ownership and dedicate the time needed to complete departmental and company-wide objectives. Must have the aptitude to take the initiative and do what's best for the department and the company. This individual will have 6 + years of related chemical manufacturing process operations or industry work experience and have a Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.

Essential Duties:

  • Supervise the QC Lab, Electrical, Instrumental and Maintenance technicians.
  • Develop and implement process technology and cost improvement initiatives, including uptime, cycle time, yield, energy reduction, and waste minimization to ensure business goals are met.
  • Maintain product and raw material specifications. Ensures qualification of new raw materials at the site.
  • Lead and maintain existent QM System ISO 9001 certification and requirements.
  • Provides technical assistance to registration, supply chain and product development teams as needed.
  • Provide maintenance engineering support for interlinked projects, improvement of maintenance procedures, and optimization of process equipment availability.
  • Manage all QC lab operations, including contractors, equipment, supplies.
  • Update, review, and approve operating procedures, standard operating conditions, and P&IDs.
  • Lead and/or assist in safety, quality, and process related incident investigations.
  • Maintain a technology library, the Technical Standards, and other essential process technology documentation.
  • Maintain current SDS documents for site, raw materials, finished goods, lab, maintenance.
  • Provide technical assistance to registration, supply chain and product development teams as needed.
  • Support Safety, Health & Environment.
  • Lead and/or assist with capital improvement projects. Utilize experience to design, specify, and manage installation and startup. This role must be capable of functioning as individual contributor as well as in a team environment.
  • Monitor the process on an on-going basis to look for positive and negative shifts to identify improvement opportunities using statistical process control and process historian trending tools. Requirements
    • (Required) Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from accredited university.
    • Minimum 6 years of related chemical manufacturing process operations or industry work experience
    • Must come out of the Chemical or similar industry
    • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical/chemical engineering and process safety management principles.
    • Experience in laboratory operations.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a track record of fostering a respectful work environment.
    • Strong troubleshooting skills and application of Root Cause Analysis concepts.
    • Demonstrated ability to understand manufacturing processes and best practices required to support operations.
    • Demonstrated computer skills for the full MS Office package. SAP user knowledge would be preferred. Minitab or other statistical data analysis tools are a plus. LIMS user knowledge or other lab software would be preferred.
    • Strong organization skills and project management, including preparing project execution plans and scopes. The ideal individual will be success driven and have great tenure in their last positions. Compensation and benefits for this position are very competitive.       • Prioritize and drive business process improvements
      • Maintaining process documentation, process scorecard/metrics, and process-based training plans for assigned process area
      • Enable continuous process improvement and process excellence through clear actionable strategies

      • Identify process improvement through exemplary process design/improvement/management skills using proven best practice techniques
      • Identify and develop global process for program management and process
