YOUR ROLE CEVA Logistics is currently hiring a Director, Accounts Payable located in Houston, TX. The Director is responsible for ensuring all payments to vendors for the North American (NORTAM) cluster are made timely and accurate, and that the payment process follows established company procedures and is in compliance with internal controls. The person in this role is responsible for the daily operations of the Accounts Payable team and will be accountable for managing many components of the payment cycle including, reconciliation of accounts, and cash disbursements accounts payable in North America (US, Canada, Mexico, Guam and Puerto Rico). This position is responsible for maintaining the Vendor Master information in the accounting system (JDE) and ensuring the information is accurate, complete and up to date. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO? Summary of Key Accountabilities: Provide management oversight and coordinate activities for all AP functions, including the offshore shared services operation center (SSO) in India to ensure a consistent and reliable workflow is maintained and accurate and timely vender payments are realized. Manage accounting month-end close processes as it relates to Accounts Payable, including ensuring invoices are timely and accurately input in the accounting system both locally and at the SSO, as well as timely reviewing, analyzing and reconciling applicable accounts payable general ledger accounts. Forecast NWC external payable on a monthly basis and explain variances to actual. Support Working Capital efforts by reviewing payment terms and ensure that the Accounts Payment department acts timely and responsively to the needs and requests of the purchasing department. Partner with procurement team to maintain the Vendor Master information in the accounting system (JDE) and related operating systems, ensuring the information is accurate, complete, and up to date. Responsible for annual vendor regulatory compliance including filing 1099 filings for US, T-4 vendor filings for Canada and applicable vender filings for Puerto Rico and resolving issues and handling audits from taxing authorities as applicable. Lead the timely resolution of AP reconciling items and debits in the AP subledger. Oversee the monthly and quarterly close processes with a focus on driving improvements (i.e. quality and efficiency of output) to enable optimal business decisions. Prepares timely and comprehensive reports including analysis of financial and non-financial data. Own the implementation of accounting policies, adapting to the changes in our business as well as the evolution group accounting policies and procedures. Establish, monitor and maintain controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the company's value. Encourage the growth of all direct and indirect reports through skills development, objectives and goal setting. Holds direct reports accountable for meeting performance standards and departmental performance goals. Transform the AP function through the implementation of best practices to deliver best in class results. Provide input into cash flow forecast and maintain cash outflow variance for AP to within an acceptable tolerance. Lead and champion AP and NWC improvement initiatives. Maintain an active role in system projects that affect AP. Other duties that may be assigned by team leader. WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? Education and Experience: Bachelor---s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required Master---s degree preferred 10 years of progressive experience in large, multinational companies Experience in Transportation/Logistics/Supply Chain desired 5 years of people management experience 5 years of J.D. Edwards (JDE) or other purchasing system experience CPA, CA or CMA preferred Additional Skills that Contribute to Success: Logistics business acumen Working knowledge of IFRS Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley guidelines and experience with skillful application of SOX standards. Regulatory reporting requirements around AP (1099 and T4 preparation, unclaimed property, etc.). Business process documentation and experience Demonstrated leader and management experience Demonstrated success in planning, developing and executing high-level strategies with the ability to embrace and manage change. Technical ---accounting issue--- assertiveness, negotiation skills, conflict management skills, systems knowledge, managerial decision making and problem-solving skills. Ability to articulate issues, present ---pros and cons--- and provide solutions to finance and field management. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word, and Outlook and industry-related software. Excellent communication and analytical skills with a hands-on business approach - Commercial acumen and a willingness to take decisions.
