The division is a comprehensive network of hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, emergency centers and diagnostic imaging facilities in greater Houston, Corpus Christi and South Texas. Facilities include: 17 hospitals, nine ambulatory care centers, 13 off-campus emergency centers, and a regional transfer center.What you will do in this role:Under the general supervision of the Chief Operating Officer and the general direction of the Medical Director of the NICU and Respiratory Care, the Director of Respiratory Care is responsible for the overall operation of the Department of Respiratory Care, Department of Audiology, Department of Occupational Therapy, and the Department of EEG, inclusive of administrative and technical operation. - Utilizing effective planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and controlling mechanisms, ensures that efficient and effective patient care services are provided while enhancing attainment of individual personnel and hospital objectives.

  • Determine the objective and goals for the departments and formulate policies and procedures to achieve and insure adherence to Quality Improvement Standards.
  • Prepare and submit the annual capital and operating budget for approval, including but not limited to selection of capital equipment purchases.
  • Prepare and maintain personnel, purchasing and other related records and reports.
  • Provide inservice training and promote opportunities for the growth and development of departmental personnel. - Also, approves personnel promotions, demotions, and transfers, hiring and firing. - Conducts employee performance evaluations, reviews, evaluates and revises department job descriptions.
  • Monitors the quality of patient care services/procedures and preparation/submission of necessary technical or administrative reports.
  • Determines departmental annual quality improvement monitors, collects/interprets data and submits monthly/quarterly reports.
  • Demonstrates Customer Service principles and behaviors appropriately.Qualifications What qualifications you will need:
    • Certification from a one year A.M.A. approved respiratory care program or -Registered from a two year A.M.A. approved respiratory program required. Bachelors Degree preferred
    • Certificate for Certification or Registry from the National Board for Respiratory Care.
    • Licensed by the Texas Department of Health as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
    • Current BLS and NRP certification.
    • At least two (2) years hospital/respiratory care management experience.
