The Senior Director of B2B Data and Analytics will lead a team of data engineers, analysts, and data visualization professionals supporting Marketing, Product, and Sales initiatives for the Employer and Individual business. Utilizing 1st and 3rd party data is essential for making strategic business decisions that drive growth and retention, and this team is at the core of providing key partners with population lists, performance insights and actionable dashboards to achieve these goals. This leader will leverage past experiences in data mining and marketing campaign and product penetration reporting to become a key partner to the internal clients we serve. They will also have experience managing a high performing team that is collaborative, innovative, and efficient while supporting and prioritizing a robust body of work. As we transform our Marketing Operations team to deliver full-service solutions to our business partners, this team will be key in providing the B2B insights necessary to achieve their goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Data engineering lifecycle including research, proof of concepts, architecture, design, development, test, deployment, and maintenance
  • Design, develop, implement, test, and maintain the delivery of data with a systematic approach in order advance solutions that improve data and analytics efficiency, reliability, and quality
  • Evaluate and apply new tools and techniques for delivering analytics and data solutions; build common utilities to drive organizational efficiency with a passion around technology and solutions and influence of thought and leadership on future capabilities
  • Build processes and diagnostics tools to troubleshoot, maintain and optimize solutions and respond to customer and production issues
  • Maintain high quality documentation of data definitions, transformations, and processes to ensure data governance and security
  • Management and prioritization of team performance and assignments to ensure on time and accurate delivery of data solutions, models, and dashboards for our stakeholders
  • Mentoring a team on building advanced models needed to predict and identify business opportunities for retention, acquisition, product penetration, and marketing effectiveness
  • Utilize, build, and maintain a suite of data visualization tools to design and deliver dashboards that illustrate trends and opportunities allowing the business to make effect decisions
  • Build, maintain and strengthen relationship with stakeholders

    Required Qualifications:

    • Undergraduate degree in relatable fields
    • 5+ years successful experience leading a high functioning and high-volume team with similar responsibilities. Includes proven success of employee development and team satisfaction
    • 4+ years of experience developing high performing models and analytics that identify and predict business outcomes for Marketing and Product in a large organization
    • 3+ years of experience with Cloud architecture, Big Data Platform, Microservices Architecture
    • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI
    • Experience with analytic tools such as R, Python and Github
    • Solid database experience with advanced SQL knowledge
    • Ability to embrace continuous learning of engineering and analytics practices to ensure we follow industry best practices and technology adoption, including Agile thinking

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Solid communication and presentation skills, with ability to inform and persuade leadership
      • Ability to form collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders

        Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $113,500 to $218,100. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $113,500 to $218,100. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
