Job Description:
*Airswift has been tasked by one of our major clients to find a
Project Director to work on an 18-months contract in Houston,
TX.**Description of the Function: *The Project Director is to
ensure that the Project is executed in accordance with the
company's Procedures and Contractual Job Specifications, meeting
targets set in terms of HSE and Quality, while achieving schedule
constraints and financial objectives.The Project Director delegates
tasks to his team members, sets targets and ensures that these
targets are met.*Key Responsibilities: ** Establish with the CLIENT
and within Project Team, Project vision, goals and success criteria
and implement these.* Establish a Project Execution Plan for
completion of the Project demonstrating excellence throughout the
life of the project.* Put forward a clear understanding of HSES
throughout the Project and be seen as positively influencing Safety
culture and measures in all Project phases, encouraging and
supporting initiatives. Ensuring and leading the project towards
the project's safety goals to have an accident free project
execution with the singular objective of 'nobody to get hurt'.*
Ensure the implementation of an effective Risks and Opportunities
Management system.* Establish the Project organization and secure
sufficient and qualified resources throughout the duration of the
Project and for obtaining CLIENT 's approval of any Subcontractors
/ Suppliers to be used on the Project.* Manage and contribute to
the development of the human resources assigned to the project and
ensure their yearly appraisal in liaison with the functional
departments.* Ensure clear lines of responsibility, clear split of
scope of work, clear communication channels and decision-making
processes throughout the Project Organization.* Develop "team
spirit" throughout the Project for maximum understanding and
ownership of Project goals at all levels to enhance Project
performance.* Establish a positive working relationship with
CLIENT.* Ensure that a complete package of tender documentation is
available at or immediately after Contract Award to achieve
effective handover of the tender.* Ensure at the beginning of the
Contract that the detailed budget against which the Contract
performance will be measured is prepared, split by Functions and
Work Packages, as applicable.* Provide regular feedback of lessons
learnt ( - REX -)* Ensure that processes and tools are in place to
allow real-time monitoring of project parameters and performance
indicators. Ensuring that all the necessary work plans are prepared
and that resources are available to meet the plan.* Ensure that the
work programs are completed in a timely manner, that the CONTRACT
specification is being fulfilled and that all codes and applicable
standards are being met.* Identify and manage Contract changes and
notify CLIENT in a timely manner, of their impact on costs, work
schedule and Contract obligations.* Ensure monitoring,
co-ordination and management of the work being performed by all
Function Managers, Work Package Managers, Subcontractors and
Vendors involved in the Contract.* Monitoring and controlling
claims from Subcontractors, any recovery due from
vendors/Subcontractors together with any insurance recovery* Ensure
that all internal and external interfaces are identified and closed
out in a timely manner and in sufficient detail to ensure smooth
progress of the work.* Ensure that a detailed budget against which
the contract performance will be measured is prepared and monitor
the Project financial results are within target or above and
initiate any corrective action that may be required for this
purpose. He will further ensure that the budget reflects any
changes in scope, etc., which have arisen between the bidding stage
and award of contract.* Accurate and timely reporting of Project
status to CLIENT and to company's management.* Ensuring that
billing to CLIENT is correctly raised according to the payment
schedule and that payments are received in accordance with the
terms of the Contract.* Ensure proper closing out of the Contract,
both with CLIENT and Subcontractors.* Prepare a Project Close-Out
Report highlighting deviations from schedule and budget with
reasons and explanations.*Profile: ** Engineer diploma* Strong
leadership, collaborative and open minded* Minimum 10 years'
experience as Project Manager (leader) on EPC Projects (on
Contractor's side)* Experience on pipeline Projects (EPC) and
knowledge of associated risks
(engineering/fabrication/construction)* Experience in Project Team
formation and Project Start-Up phase* Strong Technical agility*
Experience in O&G and/or Downstream Industry* Good
understanding in QHSE best practices and legislation* Ability to
work in the US. No sponsorship will be provided by the
