seeking a seasoned, highly skilled individual to lead and oversee
ongoing aviation services activities across Texas. The role of a
Senior Aviation Project Manager - Practice Leader is to lead our
Texas Region Airport Infrastructure Group and act as a liaison to
corporate leadership on various airport engineering and planning
projects at both commercial service and general aviation airports
across the Gulf Region (TX, LA, MS, AL, FL). In addition to
providing technical expertise and leadership in direct support of
our projects, it is expected that you will conduct business
development efforts in the preparation of proposals/statements of
qualifications, the pursuit of new clients/opportunities, and the
consideration of new and innovative service offerings. You will
also be responsible for managing capital programs and projects as
well as interfacing with in-house technical experts throughout the
organization.Our award-winning aviation team has designed and
managed hundreds of projects across Canada, the U.S. and the
Caribbean. This role is intended to be based in any of our Texas
office locations. Periodic travel will be required throughout the
Gulf Region to allow coordination and oversight of projects and
project teams. The chosen candidate with report to the US Gulf
Regional Business Leader for Transportation and collaborate
regularly with the National Aviation Sector Leader.In this role,
your primary objective is to expand the Aviation services practice
across the Gulf Region with a primary focus on Texas. The ideal
candidate will have a demonstrated track record of building and
maintaining client relationships with airport clients to pursue,
win, and deliver new aviation services and projects.Your Key
ResponsibilitiesActively contribute to win strategies, key pursuits
and successful project execution and become involved at a hands-on
level on projects should issues impacting client satisfaction or
project management best practices escalateActively contribute to
the growth of the Aviation Sector through business development, key
pursuit, and strategyExpand our reach and client base utilizing
strong marketing, business development, and account management
plansResponsible for implementing the marketing and business
development (M&BD) plan for the Gulf Region Aviation
PracticeIncrease visibility of Stantec by sharing our knowledge and
innovation story through key client engagements to enhance our
reputation and drive revenueDirects one or more project teams in
the development of contract plans for aviation projects according
to established engineering standards and state and federal
policiesCollaborates closely with the Transportation Regional
Business Leader, National Aviation Sector Leader, Business Center
Operating Leader, and Regional Practice Leaders in other Business
Lines. Works on multiple aviation projects ranging from general
aviation to large hub airports many of which possess complex
featuresManages landside and airside contracts with a variety of
airport clientsEstablishes project goals, milestones, and
procedures, defines roles and responsibilities, coordinates project
resources, and monitors project progressReviews project documents
for conformity and quality assuranceThorough knowledge and
application of FAA design standards and specificationsKnowledge of
FAA and state airport capital funding processesProvides direction
and coordinates staff necessary to complete assignments on schedule
and within budget per the contractPrepares and/or reviews and
approves scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments and
projectsInteracts with clients, customers, regulatory and funding
agencies, contractors, and othersWill coordinate the work of other
engineers and/or technicians who assist in specific
assignmentsGathers data and information required in the development
of aviation grants and facilitiesMay be required to assist and
participate in the preparation of funding grant
applicationsMonitors contractor's construction effort and
qualityAnalyzes and interprets construction plans and
specifications; seeks assistance from design engineer where intent
is not clearMay prepare and present public reports to a variety of
audiencesAttend project meetings and may present specific aspects
of engineering assignmentRepresents the organization at key
professional organizations and at Board meetings for various
General Aviation airports, if requiredContributes to the vision,
growth and advancement to Stantec's Airport
SectorQualificationsYour Capabilities and CredentialsAbility to
manage all aspects of aviation project development and
deliveryExperience in successful aviation project pursuits
including identifying opportunities, client engagement, developing
teaming strategies, developing proposals, and winning new
workAbility to coordinate with professional staff to develop
multiple assignmentsGood communication, multi-tasking,
attentiveness to detailAbility to solve problems using sound
professional judgment, creativity and innovationWorking knowledge
of codes, legal and design requirements in relevant jurisdictions
and developing jurisdictional experience and contactsAbility to

agenciesCurrent driver's license and ability to obtain airside
security badge at commercial service airports and passing required
security background check requiredEducation and
ExperienceCompletion of a four (4) year college level academic
program in Civil Engineering with a Bachelor of Science degree is
mandatory20 years of aviation experience with a minimum of 10 years
as a PMRegistered Professional Engineer (PE) requiredAbility to
