medical sales team in the Houston, TXarea.At Medline, people come

- Primary Contributor to Sales Rep Success: The Medline Division
Manager's (DM) primary responsibility is to meet or exceed
established annual sales and strategic goals for their respective
division. The DM is chartered with providing strategic leadership
that supports Medline's corporate strategy to division's sales
team. The DM is also responsible to recruit, hire and develop each
individual representative in the organization to ensure we have the
best sales team within our peer group and insure the success of
each sales rep with in their division. Success defined as rep
consistently achieving the predefined annual goals set by Medline
including: Quota achievement, Promo goal, and success in deal
generation/implementation. The DM will foster rep success through
the following activities:
- Rep Travel: DM will travel with reps in the division on a
regular basis. The expectation is that the DM will be traveling
with reps and working with reps on larger group deals 3-4 days per
week
- Formal and consistent rep feedback and communication: DM is
responsible for providing formal written and verbal feedback to the
reps on a regular basis. Including protect and grow Fridays (1st
and 3rd Fridays of each month), weekly division conference calls,
semiannual reps assessments, and periodic progress reports.
- Key Account Management: DM is responsible for creating and
developing strong relationships with key decision makers in various
levels of these designated accounts.
- Prime vendor customers: DM must be able to successfully sell
our capabilities to prospective accounts as well as manage and
direct existing prime vendor accounts (see prime vendor
responsibilities)
- Target specific management groups and large supply
customers
- Be skilled at selling Medline's high value and unique clinical
and quality assurance programs (e.g. Abaqis)
- Profitability Improvement: DM is responsible for the continual
improvement of Medline GM and rep commission through the following
activities (among others):
- SPA administration
- Strategic price increases
- Product substitutions that improve profitability
- Improving the Medline mix of business in prime vendor
accounts
- Administrative duties: DM must effectively manage all
administrative tasks in a timely manner including: All required
reporting, Medline corporate communication, Rep Expenses, SPA
approval and compliance policies, etc.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree required;
- 8-10 years outside business-to-business sales experience;
autonomy and accountability;
- 3-5 years' experience managing a team of sales
professionals
- Ability to sell effectively to different levels within a
customer organization;
- Proven ability to identify, connect with, and close new
business; build consensus
- Complex sales strategy/approach to sell solutions across
multiple levels;
- Background in commissioned, tangible product sales;
- Track record of demonstrable sales growth and quota
attainment;
- Ability to present multiple product lines;
- Excellent communication and organizational skills;
- Stable work history;
- Computer proficiency especially in MS Excel, Word, and
Outlook
- Due to the nature of an outside sales representative position,
the ability to drive a car, travel in that car 90% of each day, and
interact with healthcare providers on site is required.
