We are currently looking for a dynamic individual to work as an -EHS Manager -located in Houston, Texas. In this role you will be supporting the Polyurethane's Division and be responsible for managing the site's Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) management systems in close cooperation with the Houston Port (Terol) Plant Manager, Regional EHS Sr. Manager and the other site management team members to ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory (national, regional, local) and corporate standards.

As the EHS Manager, you will: -

  • Drive the site EHS culture as a change agent stretching the plant site toward achieving Zero Harm every day.
  • Lead and develop the site Environmental, Health and Safety management system, develop and drive a process safety and environmental conscious culture.
  • Work collaboratively with site leadership, department managers and all associates with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local and corporate environment, health, and safety standards such as, but not limited to; OSHA, Huntsman PSM, ACC Responsible Care, TSCA, DOT and EPA.
  • Provides advice and counsel to plant management and acts as an advisor to the Plant Manager in all matters pertaining to environmental, health, safety, process safety, and security of the site.
  • Accomplish EHS compliance by maintaining and improving management systems and performing audits to keep the site compliant.
  • Deliver monthly and annual reports on site environmental performance (waste and emission data), personal safety and process safety performance in accordance with regulatory and corporate requirements.
  • Continuously improves safety and environmental performance by investigating accidents, injuries, and hazards; builds rapport with local networks, agencies and supports improvement teams. Develops and maintains EHS improvement plans.
  • Be accountable for overseeing site environmental compliance activities; this may include air, water, and waste requirements.
  • Be a visible presence in the facility assessing compliance with safety, PSM and environmental requirements, utilizing coaching and mentoring skills drive EHS improvements.
  • Be accountable for site EHS training, including employee orientation, emergency drills, industrial hygiene, (behavioral based) safety and environmental training including SPCC, stormwater, emission events, and waste handling and disposal.
  • Function as the Facility Security Officer coordinating plant security operations and requirements.
  • Be supported by Regional EHS network (EHS, PSM, Legal and Environmental COE) in the spirit of continuous professional growth and development.



    Qualifications

    You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. -The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States



    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial or Environmental Engineering.
    • 3+ years of experience in Chemical Plant Manufacturing (proven Process Safety or Environmental experience)
    • 8+ years of EHS leadership experience

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • OHSA PSM, PHA, MOC experience.
      • Data Analysis using excel, PowerBI, or other data analysis tools.
      • Experience with environmental and safety software systems such as KMS and Cority a plus.
      • Experience in Corporate EHS KPI data collection, analysis, and reporting.
      • Experience in Environmental Agency reporting

        • Is a natural leader with ability to engage and influence all levels of the organization.
        • Excellent communication skills, good planning and organizational skills and persistence.
        • Must be prepared to solve emergency problems 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.
        • Maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of EHS regulations through study, courses, and seminars to ensure EHS compliance of the site activities.

          Working Conditions:

          • Availability to travel approximately 10%.
          • Pushing, Pulling, High spaces and Tight spaces.
          • Sitting, Standing, Walking, Bending, Climbing, Stooping, Twisting and Reaching.
          • Repetitive motion, noise exposure, chemical exposure, Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), Electrical shock or vibration, temperature extremes and differentiate color patterns.
