We're hunting for a Manager of the Employee Medical Clinic, someone who's ready to be part of the best ranked children's hospital in Texas, and among the best in the nation. In this position, you will manage daily clinical, operational, and personnel activities of Employee Medical Clinic and provide administrative and operational support to the director. The manager participates and coordinates in the delivery of high-quality patient care in the Employee Medical Clinic.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Seeks/establishes strong collaborative relationships with other medical and well-being specialties within and outside the hospital system for enhanced referrals. Assists employees with appropriate management of their non-occupational illnesses or injuries with referrals and evaluations as needed. Counsels' employees and utilizes motivational interviewing and crises intervention skills to help employees identify problems with referral to the Employee Assistance Program or other services when appropriate.
  • Coordinates and collaborates outpatient clinical operations and patient care needs with appropriate members of the healthcare team to achieve desired clinical outcomes and management of care across the continuum. Demonstrates effective communication skills with health care team and works to eliminate communication barriers. Serves as a liaison between physicians, families, nursing staff and ancillary departments.
  • Monitors current and projected patient volumes and clinical processes via data collection and observation. Effectively and succinctly compiles, analyzes, and presents data to diagnose process improvement opportunities and goals to team and department. Uses data to make decisions for staffing effectiveness. Monitors productivity and assures that staffing resources are aligned with patient care needs. Promotes staff competencies, for example, mock codes.
  • Ensures maintenance of employee medical records and oversees a reporting system that meets legal requirements and ensures continuity of care and confidentiality. Conducts department-based quality improvement programs to monitor and improve outcomes. Provides aggregate data and participates in quarterly reports to the Infections and Safety Committees.   • Monitors processes to assure the quality and effectiveness of Employee Medical Clinic Services. Develops and collaborates with Director and other team members in designing and implementing appropriate and effective programs with employee training, as needed, to provide an optimum working environment. Manages ongoing competence of staff providing Employee Medical Clinic services.
  • Shares accountability for maintaining current approved departmental policies and procedures with annual reviews to assure continuity and uniformity of services within the Employee Medical Clinic 100% of the time. Skills & Requirements
    • Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children's unless approved for a medical or religious exemption
    • Required bachelor's degree in one of the following areas: Nursing or other health related field
    • Preferred master's degree Nursing, Business, or healthcare related field
    • Preferred RN - Lic-Registered Nurses Texas Board of Nursing or Nursing Licensure Compact and BLS - Cert-Basic Life Support American Heart Association
    • Required 5 years Health care or health management related experience with preferred 4 years of Management/leadership experience specific to healthcare leadership, nursing administration, or other relevant experience
