Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions has an opening for a Water Laboratory Manager based in the Tomball, TX Technology Center. This is a key role that ensures accurate and timely water analytical data for both the CMS/ES sales teams and the Technology group.

Position Title

Water Laboratory Manager

(This position may be filled at the Lead Researcher or R&D Project Leader level, depending on qualifications and number of teams/employees managed).

Essential Responsibilities

Laboratory Management

• Provide overall leadership for a high-volume (over 1 million tests annually) Industrial Water Analysis Laboratory consisting of approximately 10 direct reports
• Manage the successful achievement of operational, customer satisfaction, and budgetary KPI's
• Provide consultation to both internal and external customers
• Drive continuous improvement of operations through introducing new techniques and increasing overall efficiency
• Fully support and ensure implementation of the Site EHS Management System and Quality Management System
  Qualifications / Requirements
  
  
  • Bachelor's degree Chemistry, or closely related field
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in an analytical laboratory
  • Demonstrated experience implementing certification standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 17025, etc.
  • Experience with a LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System)
  • General knowledge of processes and treatments in the Industrial Water Treatment Industry
  • Strong technical skills in water analyses to include wet chemistry, chromatography, spectrophotometry, ICP-OES & AA
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with cross functional teams
  • Excellent computer skills including both Google and MS Office products
  • Strong general communication and technical writing skills
  • Proven ability to lead both projects and teams
    Desired Characteristics
    
    
    • MS or PhD in Chemistry, or closely related field
    • Previous laboratory management experience to include personnel, operations, and budget management
    • 10+ years' experience in an analytical laboratory
