effectiveness.The Obsolescence Manager is part of the Continuous
Improvement team to independently, as central and neutral control
body, support obsolescent material efforts. These efforts will
directly support KARL STORZ North America manufacturing entities
including KSE, KSI, KSEA-OR1 and align with all global
manufacturing plants' efforts (KST, KSVEE). The Manager will
consolidate details and requirements into the AMSYS database to
proactively anticipate obsolescence mitigation needs of electronic
materials and components, aided by the centralized software
utilized across all manufacturing and distribution entities.The
Obsolescence Manager controls/coordinates the required activities
in close cooperation with the component-level responsible personnel
within and externally to the organization. This highly-experienced
professional will work as part of the Sustaining Program Management
network to provide leadership and oversight to the proactive
obsolescence monitoring and mitigation processes.Responsibilities
include but are not limited to:--- Monitoring the obsolescence
status of electronic components utilizing a central, multi-site
database. o Preparation and maintenance of the database. o Ensure
that all current products with the BOM's are/are transferred to
AMSYS o Coordination of measures for obsolete, PDN Issued and NRND
components SC/Purchasing (discussion at component level) o Checking
the relevance and obsolescence status of components that are not
automatically assigned, checking for alternatives with
engineering--- Initiation, coordination, and follow-up of reactive
and proactive measures in close cooperation with the departments of
the manufacturing plants (Engineering COEs, Product Management,
SCM/purchasing, Repair, Production)--- Prepare and present economic
feasibility studies to review and decision joint mitigation plans
on proposed resolutions o Detailed analyzes in preparation for a
pro-active obsolescence management via replacement, last time buy,
re-design as potential solutions o Checking the required quantities
based on the forecast figures (Global Demand Planning) and the
production planning of the locations, in particular KSI (estimation
of the range and any LTB quantities)--- Target group-specific
reporting of the obsolescence status and identification of the need
for action--- Modeling, development, and harmonization of
cross-departmental processes of reactive, proactive, and strategic
obsolescence nature--- Preparation of the presentation (status,
need for action, ...) for the bi-weekly GSCM meeting--- Continuous
optimization and improvement of tracking, reporting and proactive
mitigation capabilities II. Minimum Knowledge, Education and Skill
Requirements RequiredEducation:--- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical
Engineering or related field--- P.E. license in USA--- 10 years
engineering and component-level design experience--- 21 CFR Part
820 knowledge--- Completed studies with additional business focus
or comparable qualification--- Equivalent combination of education
and experience may be acceptedKnowledge and Skills:---
Comprehensive methodical and analytical skills that make it
possible to disseminate complex problems quickly and
comprehensively, to define a solution and to implement this until
the problem is solved--- Relevant knowledge of electronic
components, their life cycles and distribution channels, ideally in
medical technology or related applications--- Experience in ERP
systems (SAP)--- Experience in the creation, harmonization of
operational processes--- Expert level: MS Office programs,
especially EXCEL--- Demonstrated open and honest communication
style with superiors, teammates, and project partners--- Ability to

and applicable standard: DIN EN 62402--- ISO 13485, ISO 9001and
applicable safety and compliance standards such as EN 60601; EN
62348--- Knowledge or exposure to: MDR (EU2017/745); EMC
(2014/303EU); RED; WEEE; MD (2006/42/EC); eIFU; RoHS 2--- Practical
experience in dealing with component databases of electronic
components--- SAP PRD and P71 experience#LI-NM1Pay Transparency The
