Work Shift: NIGHTWork Week: Varies - This is a PRN (non-benefitted) position.-- --Job SummaryThis--position requires 10 shifts per 4 week schedule, including 4 weekend shifts.The hospital based float RN is an experienced clinician who functions at the Competent or higher stage of Benner's model of clinical expertise, supporting various units to achieve quality patient outcomes.-- The hospital based float RN provides direct patient care effectively and efficiently to patient populations with varied and complex needs and to different units/areas as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned.EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSGraduation from an accredited School of NursingBachelors or Masters degree in Nursing required at HMH, preferred at other HM system hospitalsEXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSMinimum two years relevant RN experience in an acute care hospital.Minimum of two years experience as a float nurse preferredCERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIREDRegistered Nurse with current nursing license to practice in the state of TexasBLS for all nurses, ACLS for those floating to ICU, ER, PACU, Cath Lab and PALS for those floating to PACU.-- All certification must be approved by the American Heart Association.
