HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball is a 350-bed offering a wide variety of services, including emergency care, labor and delivery, a level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), general surgery, orthopedics, and robotic surgery. The hospital's 150-acre campus also features The Tomball Regional Orthopedic Center, The Women's Center, Texas Sports Medicine Center, and The Heart and Vascular Center.
HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball is affiliated with HCA Houston Healthcare, part of the HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division. The division is a comprehensive network of hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, emergency centers and diagnostic imaging facilities in greater Houston, Corpus Christi and South Texas. Facilities include: 17 hospitals, nine ambulatory care centers, 13 off-campus emergency centers, and a regional transfer center.
What you will do in this role:

• The Perianesthesia Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing individualized, age specific, culturally competent care to patients undergoing or recovering from anesthesia.
• Preoperatively, the RN obtains a health history and assesses the patient to establish a baseline.
• The RN also works with the physician and anesthesiologist to ensure each patient is appropriately readied for their procedure.
• Postoperatively, the RN provides extensive care until the patient is safely able to transfer to the next level of care, including home.
• The RN manages postoperative pain, nausea, and thermoregulation.
• The RN delegates tasks to the licensed and unlicensed personnel according to the Texas Nurse Practice Act and hospital policyQualifications Education:
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required, BSN preferredWhat qualifications you will need:
    • Prefer 1 year experience in related clinical area
    • Current Texas RN license
    • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification required
