Job Purpose
The Health and Safety Specialist is part of the Field Operations team and actively provides on-site leadership and strategic direction around ensuring the health and safety of Pattern employees and contractors.
Key Accountabilities:

• 
  Support self-perform sites with the creation of new safe work procedures and lock out, tag out instructions for the equipment at their facility.
  
  
• 
  Support the set up of new Pattern facilities.
  
  
• 
  Perform hazard/risk assessments.
  
  
• 
  Implement best known safety practices throughout the fleet.
  
  
• 
  Coach and build strong relationships with field employees.
  
  
• 
  Implement injury prevention techniques.
  
  
• 
  Lead root cause analysis investigations as required.
  
  
  Experience/Qualifications/Education Required
  
  • 
    
  • 
    Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Health and Safety or 5 years of technical leadership work experience in the wind industry.
    
    
  • 
    Experience with cranes, lifting and rigging, civil works, safety management systems, control of hazardous energy, confined space requirements, work at heights and soft tissue injury prevention desired.
    
    
  • 
    Experience with owner/operator self-perform of operations and maintenance structure.
    
    
    Additional Requirements

      Experience using technical resources such as hydraulic and electrical schematics.
      
      
    • 
      Experience writing technical documentation.Knowledge about traditional and modern safety leadership practices.
      
      
    • 
      Excellent public speaking skills.
      
      
    • 
      Travel to remote areas within US and Canada up to 50% may be required.
      
      
      The expected starting pay range for this role is $90,000 - $122,000 USD. This range is an estimate and base pay may be above or below the ranges based on several factors including but not limited to location, work experience, certifications, and education. In addition to base pay, Pattern's compensation program includes a bonus structure for full-time employees of all levels. We also provide a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, life insurance, voluntary benefits, family care benefits, employee assistance program, paid time off and bonding leave, paid holidays, 401(k)/RRSP retirement savings plan with employer contribution, and employee referral bonuses.
