Job Summary
Collaborates with interdisciplinary team in the delivery of patient
care, utilizing the nursing process; provides professional nursing
care to patients, including conducting nursing assessments,
assisting with exams and treatment, patient education, and
maintenance of medical records. MHHS hires RNs based on years of
experience groupings (i.e. newly licensed RN [working under the
supervision of RN clinical preceptor], less than 1 year, 1-3 years,
3 to 10 and 10+).

Hiring for the following Med Surg Units:
Med Surg Neuro
5 North (5N) is a Med Surg-Neuro Unit. The Unit consists of 25
beds, all private rooms. 5N provides acute care to all stroke,
seizures, chest pain, CHF, end-stage renal disease and ETOH
withdrawal. 5N also has remote telemetry monitoring capabilities
that can accommodate patients requiring cardiac monitoring. Our
patient population is high-acuity with complex co-morbidities. The
nurse to patient ratio is 1:4-5, with a vast amount of support
resources
Cardiac Tele
Our Cardiac Tele Unit (3 North) consists of 24 private rooms.
Provides acute care to medical-surgical adult patients with or
without cardiac pathology. All patients are on remote cardiac
telemetry. Our nurses are highly skilled in taking care of patient
experiencing cardiac dysrhythmias, post AMI, post cardiac
catheterization with PTCA/stent, CHF, Pneumonia, Sepsis, and COPD
to name a few. Our nurses are proficient at the administration of
the following IV drips: lasix, bumex, heparin, amiodarone,
cardizem, aggrastat, milrinone, and Dobutrex. Our staff are trained
to take care of patients on vapotherm, high flow oxygen, and BiPAP
with the assistance of respiratory therapy. The nurse to patient
ratio is 1:5
6 North Medical
6 North (6N) is General Med Surg/Tele Unit. The unit consists of 38
beds, both private and semi-private rooms. 6N provides acute care
to general med surg patients, with diagnoses consisting of
diabetes, diabetic associated ulcers, hypertension, COPD,
pneumonia, sepsis pancreatitis, end-stage renal disease, ETOH
withdrawal, cancer and other general med surg diagnosis. Our
patients requiring cardiac monitoring are remotely monitored via a
Central Telemetry Unit. The patient population ranges from early
adult to geriatric and 6N has a high-acuity patient population with
complex co-morbidities. The nurse to patient ratio is 1:5, with a
vast amount of support resources.
Med Surg Oncology/Trauma
Memorial Hermann Greater Heights is a Magnet facility with:
260 beds; 40 Private Beds; 1:4-5 Patient Ratio
Fast paced unit, team work-oriented culture, leadership support
Ortho Joint/Rehab
Provides acute care to Ortho, falls, traumas, MVA, dislocations,
General Med Surg patients. Our patient population is high-acuity
with complex co-morbidities. The nurse to patient ratio is 1:5,
with a vast amount of support resources.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Professional
Nursing; Bachelors of Nursing preferred
