Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center is seeking a full-time Mental Health Medical Director (Emergency Room) Psychiatrist to join our team in Houston, TX. The Mental Health Medical Director will oversee and monitor suicide prevention initiatives required of ER-MH staff. The Mental Health Medical Director will perform the clinical work of a psychiatrist in the ER to include psychiatric evaluations and individualized treatment plans including the prescription of medications coordination with next level of care. In addition, the Mental Health Medical Director will supervise at least 5 psychiatrists and 3 mid-level providers with the expectation that the team will continue to grow based on clinical needs.Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:30am-3:00pmQualifications:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen (*will consider non- citizen candidates*)
• Full and unrestricted license from any U.S. State
• Board Certified/Board Eligible (Preferred)
• Completion of an accredited Psychiatry Residency
