We are searching for a Pathology Quality Assurance
Coordinatorsomeone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this
position, you will effectively coordinate quality assurance and
continuous improvement activities for the General Laboratory.

Qualifications:
Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster
dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for
Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at
Texas Children's, unless approved for a medical or religious
exemption
Bachelor's degree in science Required
3 years' experience in a laboratory setting Required
Medical Technologist, Medical Lab Scientist, Clinical Lab
Specialist, Molecular Biology, Molecular Pathology, Blood Banking,
Chemistry, Hematology or Microbiology certification can substitute
for one year of experience
A Master of Science degree or higher can substitute for one year of
experience
Responsibilities:
Coordinates Proficiency testing program for Pathology and Point of
Care Testing (POCT)
Oversees the Quality Assurance programs
Maintains a proficiency testing plan that includes, a process for
how surveys are handled, a schedule of the ship date of the surveys
and, assignment of surveys to staff
Reviews tech logs and completed worksheets daily, identifies
reporting errors and ensures that quality controls were performed
as needed. Corrects results as needed and coaches staff.
Facilitates Process Improvement (PI) Projects
Ensure to follow the DMAI2C (define, measure, analyze, improve,
innovate and control) process improvement methodology
Coordinates Blood Bank quality assurance activities
Conducts annual fire drills. Ensures that each employee has
participated in a least one fire drill annually
