Pediatric Acute Care Physician Assistant OpportunityWe are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Acute Care Physician Assistant to join our team at the Children's Heart Institute. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide advanced provider care and clinical guidance to patients and their families, as well as the ancillary care team, regarding pre-operative and post-operative management.Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct complex patient evaluations and assessments, and provide appropriate treatment, including monitoring and ordering medications.
• Coordinate, direct, and implement patient care plans, including physical examinations and episodic care or problem-oriented care under the supervision of a physician.
• Order and interpret laboratory, diagnostic, and radiographic tests, and monitor treatment programs to inform attending physicians of pertinent medical information.
• Facilitate patient education on medical processes, medication, nutrition, and health promotion or preventive health.
• Assist physicians in formulating therapeutic decisions, and maintain accurate records and prepare chart documentation for review and counter-signature by the physician.Requirements:
  • Current Texas licensure as a Physician Assistant.
  • Current Physician Assistant certification issued by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or specialty certification as required by the department.
