Locum to Permanent Psychiatrist Full-Time - UTMB Correctional
Managed Care The Opportunity At a Glance Position: Full-time
Psychiatrist Start Date: ASAP (takes 1 month to credential)
Schedule: Mon-Fri 6a-2p or 7a-3p Call: No call Patients per day:
12-15 Age Range: Adults 18 Case Types: Mostly Med Management. May
participate in civil commitment proceedings for mentally ill
patients being released from the Texas Department of Criminal
Justice (TDCJ). Conducts psychiatric, physical and neurological
examinations on assigned patients. Provides clinical supervision to
psychiatric mid level practitioners as assigned by the clinical
director. Conducts and participates in due process proceedings for
voluntary admission and compelled psychoactive medication. Conduct
both in-office and tele-health visits Most Urgent Areas: Rusk, TX &
Richmond, TX Located within the confines of a prison, jail or
juvenile detention center. Security clearance is required;
pre-employment drug testing is also required. What We Offer for
perm: Competitive base salary: $250-320K based off experience, will
allow for locums for first 3 months of employment with expectation
of becoming a W2 after 3 months fulltime Full benefits: Health,

of the Director of Mental Health Services, this position provides
direct psychiatric care to offenders assigned to inpatient &
outpatient facilities within the UTMB sector of Texas Department of
Criminal Justice (TDCJ). UTMB manages 78 prison units across Texas.
