Overview /n /n /n /n /n Pediatrix Medical Group has an exciting opportunity for a Sonographer to join our team at one of our Maternal Fetal Medicine clinics in Houston, TX. At Pediatrix, we are passionate about giving high-risk expectant mothers and their babies the care they deserve. /n /n Responsibilities /n The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer provides diagnostic ultrasound tests for patients in the Maternal Fetal Medicine setting. The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer works independently and with other members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care to pregnant women. /n /n - Explains exam to patient and family prior to the commencement of the test to assure cooperation and optimum test results. /n - Acquires anatomical, pathological, and/or physiological data. /n - Records/processes sonographic data and other pertinent observations made during the procedure. /n - Creates a preliminary report for physician interpretation and review/signature. /n - Assists physician with procedures such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling. /n - Recognizes equipment malfunctions and takes appropriate corrective action. /n - Responsible for maintaining adequate inventory of ultrasound supplies. /n - Follows the accredited laboratory protocols for obtaining two-dimensional images, color flow, Doppler, and m-mode where applicable. /n - Rotates as needed to cover Sonographer absences. /n - Performs related and other assigned duties as directed. /n /n Qualifications /n Education: /n /n - Graduate of an accredited sonography program with a degree in ultrasonography or equivalent. /n - Maintain or be eligible for certification as an American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) in OB/GYN. /n - Must provide evidence of continuing education credits to fulfill accreditation requirements. /n - CPR certification required. /n /n Experience /n /n - Minimum six months experience as an ultrasound technician working in OB/GYN and/or MFM setting preferred. /n /n Experience Industry: Healthcare /n /n Skills/Abilities: /n /n - Skilled in operating ultrasound equipment. /n - Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. /n /n Benefits and Compensation /n /n /n Take great care of the patient, every day and every way.TM At Pediatrix & Obstetrix, that's not only our motto at work each day; it's also how we view our employees and their families.
