Workdays & Hours: MONDAY FRIDAY 8:00 AM 5:00 PM* *Subject to Change DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The purpose of this position is to educate and train City of Houston employees on Enterprise Applications productivity tools including but not limited to Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint Online and DocuSign. This role will serve as the advocate and proponent of end user education on maximizing benefits of existing productivity tools without custom programming. This position will promote adoption of current productivity tools through education and demonstration. Provide training and guidance to users on how to increase productivity and business process through native functionalities. Build demonstrations on actual, specific business use cases. Empower City of Houston employees to leverage productivity tools in a self-service manner where business users can improve processes without programming skillsets.Under general direction, responsible for the creation and delivery of training and development programs to all levels of end-users and IT professionals. Works closely with both IT and the business to understand system and training needs for applications and packages supported. Designs training programs, classes, workshops, and Computer Based Training (CBT) and on-line help. Delivers training to a variety of audiences, understanding and applying adult learning principles. WORKING CONDITIONS The position routinely requires lifting of moderately heavy items, such as computers, printers, or records boxes (up to 40 pounds) and/or stooping, bending, very long periods of walking on rough surfaces on a routine basis and extensive use of a video display terminal. There may be sources of discomfort, i.e., outdoor installations, hot/cold temperature and humid/wet conditions. Hands-on environment. May have on-call responsibilities and rotating shifts. Significant time spent using computer display, keyboard and mouse. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management and Information Systems (MIS) or a closely related field. Information systems-specific technical certifications may be substituted for 1 year of either the education or the experience requirement, as applicable. Related professional Information Systems, experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS At least five (5) years of technology experience supporting IT applications. A Masters degree in Computer Science, Management and Information Systems (MIS) or a closely related field may be substituted for two years of the experience requirement LICENSE REQUIREMENTS None PREFERENCESPreference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6. Preferences shall be given to those with the following experience:
