Job Summary
Camden has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Director of Compensation and HR Analytics to join a dynamic, results-driven HR team. The desired candidate possesses a strong background in compensation and incentive plan design and administration, pay analytics and modeling, and project management. We are seeking someone that loves to transform data and knowledge into meaningful insights that support company growth and talent retention. The Director of Compensation and Analytics will help Camden leadership define short and long-term strategic compensation goals and will develop and integrate programs that align with the company's objectives and initiatives. This position is responsible for creating the overall design, development and implementation of Camden's compensation processes and programs, helping translate strategy into results. This role partners with HR and business leaders to ensure our compensation programs incorporate the newest ideas, technologies, and approaches to attracting, retaining, and rewarding our employees.
Additionally, the incumbent will lead the creation of uniform, cohesive, and comprehensive reporting and analytic solutions to meet Camden's business objectives, including maintaining existing reports, ad hoc reports, templates, executive dashboards, and metrics.
Demonstrate a well-balanced combination of business intuition, analytical skill, and resourcefulness to craft narratives and inspire change.
Essential Functions


  • Use reports, metrics, and data analysis to evaluate effectiveness of compensation programs in driving the business strategic objectives.
  • Keep abreast of compensation trends and regulations, ensuring that programs and pay actions meet business needs and comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws/regulations.
  • Oversee the design of new or special compensation programs to address particular market and business needs.
  • Monitor employee pay to market ratios to ensure compensation competitiveness or recommendations for improvement and assure pay follows applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Modifies compensation structures and conducts equity analysis of roles in response to changing organizational needs, market values, and geographic differentials.
  • Conduct miscellaneous analysis and modeling to identify optimal plan design and monitor plan success.
  • Oversee benchmarking and survey analyses to determine the competitiveness of pay and programs. Ownership of relevant annual compensation surveys.
  • Provide project-management and analytical support for a variety of projects and initiatives.
  • Provide daily subject matter expertise and compliance oversight of the organization's salary administration process.
  • Evaluate roles within the organization to ensure proper FLSA classifications.
  • Leverage technology to integrate compensation best practices and processes. -
  • Articulate to new leaders the company's compensation philosophy, programs, and processes.
  • Ensure executive compensation plans remain competitive and compliant with all legal requirements. -
  • Ensure data integrity via ongoing governance and audits.
  • Create logical and impactful metrics and analytics that help drive good business decisions using HR data.
  • Collaborate with internal leaders to define questions worth exploring and partner with internal teams to build innovative reporting outputs and conduct impactful analyses that deliver insights and facilitate decision-making.
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities with a responsive sense of urgency in support of our corporate objectives.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business, Finance or related field, or equivalent experience, demonstrating solid quantitative skills
    • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) preferred
    • Minimum five years of experience in the analysis, design, and administration of compensation programs, including management incentive programs and short and long-term incentives
    • 5 or more years of progressive business experience in analysis, data modeling and reporting
    • Demonstrated knowledge of total compensation theory, job classification principles, and job evaluation methodology
    • Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. federal and state regulations around compensation practices
    • Experience in the collection, analysis, and determination of market salary and total compensation data
    • Experience with pay structure automation and online salary/merit administration and performance management process (Oracle experience a plus).
    • Advanced Excel skills required. -

      Required Skills:

      • Must be a detail-oriented self-starter who can work independently and follow broad and complex instructions
      • 2 years supervisory experience
      • Must be able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality with all matters
      • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects from concept to finish
      • Strong interpersonal/collaboration skills; ability to interface with all levels within the organization and external partners
      • Ability to craft insightful narratives with data

        • Job is intermittently sedentary but requires mobility (i.e., climb stairs)
        • Will use some repetitive motion of hand-wrist in using computer and writing
        • Works in a typical office setting
        • Emotional stability and personal maturity are important attributes in this position
        • Must handle stressful, urgent, novel and diverse work situations on a daily basis
        • May require long hours and odd schedules (including weekends)
        • Position requires periodic travel by automobile to handle work-related activities
