What You Will Do:
- Partners with client groups integrating human resources
strategies and practices with business strategies and operating
plans.
- Partners with business management to achieve business results
by providing strategic and tactical leadership, counsel and advice
concerning Human Resource matters.
- Coach and mentor client leaders to manage employee issues
including performance management, attendance management and other
conduct related issues. Partner with COE's as necessary.
- Manage the termination process including determination of
severance, coordination of logistics, terms and conditions and
outplacement in consultation with law.
- Leads HR programs as assigned and undertakes special complex
corporate-wide projects related to Human Resources.
- Provides leadership implementing performance management,
compensation, pension & benefit, and training & development
programs.
- May lead or support complex investigations relating to
violations of company guidelines, policies and procedures governing
employee conduct
- Partners with specialty HR functions to develop, improve and
revise initiatives representing Employee Relations.
- Identifies, reviews and gives direction related to
organizational and employment strategies to meet Human Resources
requirements.
- Ensures consistent implementation and interpretation of Human
Resource Policies and practices to achieve legislative and
Collective Agreement compliance. In partnership with Labour
Relations, manages the grievance procedure, as applicable.
Who You Are:
Required:
- University degree in HR management or relevant discipline.
Equivalent experience will be considered.
- 7+ years experience in Human Resources function, with a primary
focus in Employee Relations
- Excellent understanding of Human Resource best practices and
Labour legislation.
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills
- Team player with strong level of agility in managing multiple
priorities while problem solving issues to support the business in
their needs.
- Proven track record in delivering on commitments and
targets.
- Ability to travel for business as needed.
Preferred:
- Certified HR professional (CPHR, PHR or SHRM - CP designation)
considered an asset.
- Experience working in and with Workday and with customer
relationship management (CRM) systems like Neocase is considered an
asset.
- MBA or other professional qualification would be considered an
asset.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:
- Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20
pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing,
sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect
color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability
to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
Mental Requirements (Both Field & Office) include but are not
limited to:
- Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written
instructions or other information, understand complex problems and
collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and
ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work
schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate
impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this
area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines,
complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and
basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
