Job Description:

This Systems Analyst, Database Administrator (DBA) role is a member of the Alta IT team and reports directly to the Director of IT. This key role has a direct responsibility in designing, maintaining and supporting our organizational database systems that consists of SQL Server as well as supporting a Hybrid environment.
Responsibilities:The Systems Analyst, DBA manages the production and non-production database(s) of SQL Server. The responsibilities include the design and implementation of data storage, database maintenance, security administration and roles. Responsibilities also include, database backup and recovery, tuning the database for optimal performance, participate in change management, and supporting compliance requirements.
Essential functions include:

• Perform day-to-day support tasks to maintain the database and the application suite
• Define and implement processes for database security for both on-premise and cloud database systems
• Assist the IT team in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and testing of databases, software, or OS related issues
• Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required
• Work closely with the IT support team in tuning queries and databases for peak application performance
• Responsible for application administration of users, roles and responsibilities, job schedulers, configuration, application interfaces, and security
• Manage incidents through an incident tracking system with relevant documentation capture for compliance related purposes
• Participate in compliance related review of database changes
• Define and perform database backup and recovery tasks
• Manage dashboards to provide fast query responses, minimize downtime, and provide statistics on system performance
• Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards
• Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy, integrity, and cybersecurity threat vectors
• Creation of database objects including stored procedures, views and triggers
• Perform daily system monitoring and environmental health checks
• Provide 24 / 7 on call support as part of an on-call rotation
  --- Minimal Requirements:
  • BS degree in a computer discipline or relevant certifications
  • 5 + years of experience in maintaining SQL databases (2012 and 2016)
  • Strong knowledge of SQL architecture or design
  • Strong hands-on experience with database standards and supporting team members in end user application roles
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server database administration, and all related products (Reporting Services, Analysis Services, Integration Services, Backups/Recovery)
  • Strong knowledge of high availability solutions (such as clustering) and database systems architectural design
  • Previous experience with DBA case tools (SSRS and SSIS) as well as third party tools
  • Scripting experience with SQL and PowerShell
  • Working knowledge of system roll-out and support methodologies
  • O365 experience
  • Hybrid environment experience
  • Strong application experience
  • Strong written and oral communication skillsPreferred Requirements:
