Job DescriptionSalary: We are seeking a PEDIATRIC MEDICAL
ASSISTANT to become a part of our team! You will be responsible for
direct patient care and administrative duties for the pediatric
care services (birth – 18 years of age).Responsibilities Activities
of a Pediatric Medical Assistant will include, but is not limited
to the following:
- Serve as the primary assistant to the pediatrician.
- Provide services including (but not limited to) measurement of
vital signs, height, weight, hearing and vision tests, and
spirometry testing.
- Administers vaccines and oral medication and performs routine
laboratory tests.
- Performs routine procedures as injections, venipunctures and
sterile dressing changes as directed by medical personnel
- Perform medication inventory control checks
- Perform essential work within Electronic Health Record system
and program data entry systems with a high degree of accuracy and
completeness
- Follow-up on client referrals
- Participate in marketing efforts to promote the pediatric
program
- Knowledgeable of HIPAA and OSHA regulations
- Communicate in a culturally competent and effective manner to
clients/caregivers regarding the services availableQualifications
- Medical Assistant training or equivalent clinical training
- Medical Assistant certification through an accredited
entity.
- Medical Assistance experience - 2 years minimum of proven work
history.
- working in pediatrics or family practice setting
- Good keyboard skills - 35 wpm
- Ability to work with frequent interruptions and maintain
emotional control under stress
- Detailed oriented and organized
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Can demonstrate compassion and patient with children and their
families.
- COVID-19 Vaccinated
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plusWorking Conditions
- The position occasionally requires sitting, standing and
bending. Occasional very light lifting, up to 20 pounds or an
equivalent weight may be required
- Must be willing to travel to Greenspoint and Sugar Land Health
