Position Summary

Perform deputy project management and engineering functions for the development and sustainment of the Battery systems aboard the International Space Station (ISS) through hardware development, manufacturing, and assembly, in addition to troubleshooting anomalies and resupplying hardware.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Understand Gateway Vehicle System Manager (VSM) Software Requirements Specification

  • Develop an intimate knowledge of the system design

  • Collaborate with the software development team

  • Plan software testing and verification activities

  • Design and implement automated test procedures

  • Work in an Agile, fast-paced environment

  • Perform other duties as required


    • This position reports to the Program Manager


      • S degree in engineering from an accredited engineering school and 5+ years of related engineering experience, or a MS degree from an accredited engineering school and 3+ years of related engineering experience, or Ph.D. from an accredited engineering school and 0 years of related experience

      • Experience with software testing and verification

      • Proficiency with C/C++ coding in a Linux environment

      • Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python

      • Experience with agile software development

      • Experience with web-based collaboration tools

      • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, git, slack, SharePoint

      • Excellent communication, negotiation and coordination skills and strong customer service attitude

      • Self-starter

      • Can understand and absorb new concepts quickly


        • Experience with highly autonomous systems

        • Experience developing software across the full development life cycle

        • Knowledge of the NASA Gateway Spacecraft systems and software

        • Experience with NPR 7150.2 and other NASA software and systems development standards
