Job Description:
JPMC Corporate & Investment Bank relies on innovators and high
quality engineers to build and maintain the technology that helps
transform CIB electronic trading front office systems to best in
class unified distributed, high throughput, self-healing trading
solution platform with sophisticated dynamic quality of service and
resiliency algorithms.
As a Lead Java Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the
Corporate & Investment Bank, Equities Technology Team , you are an
integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and
deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure,
stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are
responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across
multiple technical areas within various business functions in
support of the firm's business objectives
Job responsibilities
Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and
technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or
conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical
problems
Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and
debugs code written by others
Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of
recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of
software applications and systems
Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and
internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural
designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within
existing systems and information architecture
Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive
awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
Assist in the design, develop and implement cutting edge
distributed multi-asset Order Management System
Work closely with other developers to design and implement core OMS
infrastructure; OMS workflow engine, OMS pipeline, configuration
modules, intra process communication framework, applications
instrumentation and administration modules, applications dynamic
discovery framework, distributed caching framework, business object
transactional services framework, OMS event real-time distribution
framework.
Develop automated build and deployment modules to help integrate
OMS components into JPMS flow sales and trading echo system to
eventually migration to DevOps deployment scheme.
Continuously make modifications and enhancements to existing legacy
system applications and modules, participate in day-to-day
applications support.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts
and 5+ years applied experience
Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application
development, testing, and operational stability
Advanced in one or more programming language(s) - Java, C/C++,
Scala
Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life
Cycle
Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD,
Applicant Resiliency, and Security
Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical
processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial
intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT
systems
In-depth, expert level understanding of network communication
protocols (TCP, multicast)
Advanced l ock-free data structures and algorithms
Expert in multi-threaded programming and object-oriented design
Hands on experience with ti me series databases (KDB+)
Experience d eveloping large scale high-availability distributed
systems with dynamic quality of service and linear scaling
