team is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Level 5) to
be part of our Flight Software Development Team. - This position is
located in Houston, Texas.Come work on one of the world's most
successful human spaceflight programs and advance new technologies
in low Earth orbit and deep-space vehicles, provide important
operational and technical insight for a new generation of
crew-rated spacecraft, and drive future space development. From
resolving anomalies for the International Space Station to
designing and assessing new systems for Starliner, join our teams
that keep the International Space Station humming, enable crewed
missions with our Starliner spacecraft, and design exciting new
spaceflight concepts. Engineers in Boeing's space division bring

skills highly desired.Position Responsibilities:
- Lead, develop, document and maintain software architectures,
interfaces, algorithms and designs.
- Lead software architecture trade studies and modifications to
meet new requirements
- Lead product and project proposal and estimation efforts
- Collaborate to design, implement and integrate software
components into a fully functional software system.
- Collaborate to develop software verification plans, test
procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and
documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are
met.
- Participate in Peer Reviews for all flight software products:
Requirements, Design, Code, Unit and Integration, and FQT test
procedures.
- Participates in daily scrums, using agile practices, to
communicate clearly and openly on incremental progress and to
inform the team of any help needed on impediments and roadblocks
and suggest timely remedies for common ailments during
retrospections.
- Communicate and collaborate with leads, management, and
customers.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for software domains,
system-specific issues, and processes.

This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform
some work onsite at one of the listed location options. - This is

obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration
(NASA) facility.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an
accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science,
mathematics, physics or chemistry or other technical degree.
- 10 or more years of experience with developing software using
Object Oriented principles.
- 5 or more years of experience with development or real-time
software or integration of embedded software onto hardware.
- 5 or more years of experience with leading a software
development project or team.
- Experience with C/C++, Python, or C#.Preferred Qualifications
(Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience with Software Architecture domains
- Experience working in an Agile software development
environment.
- Experience with developing concepts of operations for complex
software systems
- Experience with Git or a similar version control system.
- Experience performing technical leadership
responsibilities
- Experience developing and tracing software requirements.
- Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems such as
VxWorks.
- Experience with NASA Core Flight Software.
- Knowledge of domain areas: Command/control/communications and
telemetry.
- Understanding of I/O device drivers: Time Triggered Ethernet,
RS422, RS232, MIL-STD1553B are plus.
- Experience with Hardware and Software Integration lab
environments.Typical Education/Experience:
- Education/experience typically acquired through advanced
technical education from an accredited course of study in
engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
(e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work
experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and
experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Masters+12
years' related work experience).
- In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not
required, accreditation standardRelocation: This position offers
